What home tuition costs in Ahmedabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry home tutor in Ahmedabad: physical, organic and inorganic, each taught the way it is marked

Chemistry is really three subjects under one name. Physical chemistry is numericals, organic chemistry is reactions and mechanisms, and inorganic chemistry is trends and exceptions that must be remembered exactly. A Class 11 or 12 student in Ahmedabad usually finds one branch much harder than the other two, and the exam in view, whether the CBSE or Gujarat board paper, NEET, JEE or the IB, changes how that branch should be practised. NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors suited to your child's course and neighbourhood. You see their fees before any meeting, and the first class is a free demo.

How do the three branches divide the CBSE Class 12 marks?

In chemistry, CBSE fixes the marks chapter by chapter rather than only by unit, which makes a tutor's planning far more precise. For 2026-27 the split is:

CBSE Class 12 chemistry theory, 2026-27: each branch, its chapters with marks, and the style of practice it needs
Branch and totalChapters (marks)How to practise it
Organic, 33Haloalkanes and Haloarenes (6); Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers (6); Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids (8); Amines (6); Biomolecules (7)Conversion chains and named reactions written from memory every week
Physical, 23Solutions (7); Electrochemistry (9); Chemical Kinetics (7)Numericals with units carried through every step
Inorganic, 14The d- and f-Block Elements (7); Coordination Compounds (7)Trends explained by reason, nomenclature drilled until automatic

Organic chemistry is close to half of the 70 theory marks, so it needs attention from the first month, not the last. Electrochemistry, at 9 marks, is the heaviest chapter on its own, and aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids the heaviest in organic. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide goes chapter by chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows how we match for the board year.

What does the Class 12 theory paper look like?

Paper 043 runs for three hours with 33 compulsory questions arranged in Sections A to E, and some questions offer an internal choice. Neither calculators nor log tables may be used, so arithmetic with logarithms and powers of ten has to be practised by hand. The 2026-27 sample paper keeps the previous session's design. Roughly 40% of marks reward remembering and understanding; the other 60% ask the student to apply, analyse or evaluate. Class 12 has one main board exam, and its 2027 dates have not been announced.

Which topics are out of the board paper, and which still matter?

CBSE Class 12 chemistry, 2026-27: topics removed from the syllabus and topics marked only by the school
StatusTopicsWhat to do
Removed from the syllabusThe solid state; Groups 15 to 18 of the p-blockSkip for the board, but check the entrance syllabus before dropping
Assessed only in schoolPolymers; chemistry in everyday life; surface chemistry; isolation of elements from oresLearn for internal marks; keep out of board-revision weeks

Older revision notes often still carry the removed chapters. Entrance tests are a different matter: NTA publishes its own NEET and JEE Main syllabi, and some material the board has dropped, p-block chemistry among it, can still be examined. Class 12 also rests on Class 11 foundations such as the mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters; the Class 11 chemistry tutor page covers that year.

How much chemistry is in NEET and JEE Main?

Chemistry in the 2026 entrance tests, and what each rewards
Test (2026)Chemistry shareMarkingWhat it rewards
NEET (UG), pen and paper45 of 180 questions; 180 of 720 marks+4 right, −1 wrongFast, exact recall of NCERT lines, above all in inorganic and organic
JEE Main Paper 125 of 75 questions: 20 multiple-choice in Section A, 5 numerical-value in Section B+4 right, −1 wrongMechanisms followed step by step and multi-stage physical numericals

NTA decides each year's pattern afresh, so check the latest bulletin. A sensible rule for any entrance student is to bring a chapter to board standard first and start the entrance questions on it the same week. Further reading: important NEET chemistry chapters, the JEE chemistry guide and our NEET coaching or home tutor comparison. The NEET chemistry tutor page explains how we match for the exam.

Where do the 30 practical marks come from?

Volumetric analysis and salt analysis carry 8 marks each. A content-based experiment adds 6, the project 4, and the class record with the viva another 4. In 2026-27 the titration uses potassium permanganate against a standard solution of either oxalic acid or ferrous ammonium sulphate (Mohr's salt), and each student weighs out and makes up that standard solution personally.

The chemicals stay in the school laboratory, yet a good deal can be prepared at home: the molarity calculation for the weighed sample, a tidy table of burette readings leading to the result, the sequence of preliminary and confirmatory tests in salt analysis with the reason behind each, a project the student can complete independently, and viva questions such as why permanganate needs no separate indicator.

Are GSEB, ISC, IB and IGCSE chemistry tutors available?

  • GSEB HSC science stream. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board sets its own Class 12 chemistry syllabus and paper. We give only general advice: mention the medium, Gujarati or English, ask for teaching from the board's prescribed textbook, and follow gseb.org for exam details.
  • ISC. CISCE sets a theory paper with practical and project work, and answers are expected to explain rather than state a one-line reason.
  • IB Diploma. SL or HL, organised around two themes, structure and reactivity. The scientific investigation is the student's own; a tutor can question the plan but not contribute to it.
  • Cambridge IGCSE. Tiered as Core or Extended. Students moving into Class 11 on another board afterwards often need early work on moles, atomic structure and basic organic chemistry. Our Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE comparison explains the tiers.

Specialists for these courses are fewer than CBSE chemistry tutors, so ask early. If none can reach you, an online specialist for the course plus a nearby tutor who checks written work covers both needs.

What does your neighbourhood change for a chemistry tutor?

Senior chemistry lessons usually fall after school or coaching, when roads are at their slowest. Six neighbourhoods across the city show how the arrangements vary; compare tutors near you on our Ahmedabad page.

NeighbourhoodHomesRail or bus linkWhat to arrange

AsarwaOlder independent homes and mid-income apartmentsAsarva railway station; Blue Line stations further offAn evening time agreed ahead, as daytime roads are busy

In the pre-board months, if a route is unreliable, two home sessions and one online session each week keep the plan steady. A tutor who already teaches other students in the same zone is also easier to keep on a fixed evening.

What does a sensible week of Class 12 chemistry look like?

Two tutored sessions a week, with short independent work in between, suits most board students:

  • Session one: the chapter the school is currently teaching, explained through the reason behind each reaction or trend, then two or three physical-chemistry numericals.
  • Between sessions: a reaction map drawn from memory and checked against the NCERT page; a short nomenclature drill on coordination compounds.
  • Session two: a recall warm-up on last week's chapter, two "give reasons" answers written in board style and marked on the spot, and a short test on anything shaky.
  • Once a month: one sample-paper section scored against CBSE's official marking scheme, with every lost mark explained.

Entrance students swap the written reasons for timed multiple-choice questions on the same chapter. Parents who open the notebook should see balanced equations with conditions, units on every numerical line and a reaction map that grows chapter by chapter.

How much do chemistry home tutors in Ahmedabad charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Rates are set by each tutor and tend to rise with the exam in view and the tutor's track record at that level; the evening trip to your neighbourhood and the number of weekly sessions also count. Online classes with the same tutor may cost less. Every fee is shown before the demo.

How do you start?

Share the class, the board or course, the exam that matters most, the branch where marks are slipping, your neighbourhood and your free evenings. A shortlist of two or three matched chemistry tutors follows, fees included, and you pick one for a free demo class. If the fit is not right, another demo is set up, and a later switch of tutor costs nothing. Where no suitable tutor can reach you, we suggest an online or hybrid plan. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India. The national chemistry home tutor page explains how we work elsewhere.

Chemistry Home Tutor in Ahmedabad: common questions

How much is a chemistry home tutor in Ahmedabad?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. NEET or JEE preparation usually costs more than board-only help, online classes with the same tutor may cost less, and every fee appears before the demo.

How do I start with a chemistry home tutor in Ahmedabad?

To start with a chemistry home tutor in Ahmedabad, share the class, board, the exam that matters most, the branch where marks slip, your neighbourhood and free evenings. We shortlist two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Which branch of Class 12 chemistry carries the most marks?

Organic chemistry carries the most CBSE Class 12 chemistry marks for Ahmedabad students, 33 of the 70 theory marks across five chapters. Physical chemistry carries 23, with electrochemistry the single heaviest chapter at 9, and inorganic 14. Organic conversions therefore need weekly practice from the first month.

Which chapters have been removed from CBSE Class 12 chemistry?

The solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block are out of the CBSE Class 12 chemistry syllabus that Ahmedabad students follow for 2026-27. Polymers, chemistry in everyday life, surface chemistry and isolation of elements are marked only in school. NEET and JEE syllabi are separate, so entrance students should check before skipping.

What does the CBSE Class 12 chemistry theory paper look like?

The CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper Ahmedabad students sit runs three hours, with 33 compulsory questions in Sections A to E and some internal choice. No calculators or log tables are allowed, so logarithms and powers of ten must be practised by hand. Roughly 60% of marks ask students to apply, analyse or evaluate.

What titration is used in the Class 12 chemistry practical?

In the 2026-27 CBSE practical, Ahmedabad Class 12 students titrate potassium permanganate against a standard solution of oxalic acid or Mohr's salt that they prepare themselves. Titration and salt analysis carry 8 marks each within the 30 practical marks. A home tutor can rehearse the molarity working, the reading table and viva questions.

Do you have chemistry tutors for GSEB Class 12 in Ahmedabad?

Yes, we look for Ahmedabad tutors who teach Gujarat board HSC science-stream chemistry from its prescribed textbook, in Gujarati or English medium. Tell us the medium in your request. We do not set out the GSEB paper pattern here; follow the board's own notices at gseb.org for syllabus and exam details.

How is chemistry tested in JEE Main and NEET?

In 2026, chemistry was 25 of the 75 JEE Main Paper 1 questions and 45 of the 180 NEET questions, the same for Ahmedabad students as everywhere. Both marked +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one. NTA sets each year's pattern afresh, so read the current bulletin before planning revision.

Can a chemistry tutor come to Shela in the evening?

A chemistry tutor can come to Shela in the evening, though there is no metro or suburban rail, so Ahmedabad tutors travel by road through South Bopal. Many towers check visitors at the main gate and again at the tower, so allow extra time on the first visit. Late-afternoon slots are usually the easiest to fix.

Should Ahmedabad chemistry tuition be at home, online or both?

When an evening route in Ahmedabad is unreliable in the pre-board months, two home chemistry sessions and one online session each week keep the plan steady. Where no suitable tutor can reach you at all, an online specialist for the course plus a nearby tutor who checks written work covers both needs.

Can the same tutor handle IB chemistry and the investigation?

An Ahmedabad tutor can teach IB Diploma chemistry at SL or HL, organised around structure and reactivity, and can question an investigation plan. The scientific investigation itself must be entirely the student's own work, so the tutor should never write, edit or add to any part of it.
