What home tuition costs in Ahmedabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics home tutor in Ahmedabad: board paper, entrance test or IB, planned around a late evening

Physics in Classes 11 and 12 is where many strong students first feel stuck. The chapters lean on vectors, graphs and calculus, the numericals run to several steps, and the same topic is examined in very different ways by CBSE, the Gujarat board, JEE, NEET and the IB. An Ahmedabad student may also be travelling between school, coaching and home across the city. NXTutors puts forward two or three physics tutors who teach your child's exact target and can reach your neighbourhood at the time you have. Fees are listed before you meet, and the first class is a free demo.

Why does Class 11 decide how Class 12 physics goes?

Class 11 moves fast: measurement, motion in one and two dimensions, Newton's laws, work and energy, rotation and gravitation arrive within a few months. Each chapter quietly assumes that the student can resolve a vector, read the slope of a graph and treat a rate of change, sometimes before the maths class has taught these properly. Class 12 then repeats the same tools with charges and fields instead of masses. A tutor who spends the first term of Class 11 making components, slopes and areas under curves automatic saves far more time later than any crash course in the board year. The Class 11 physics tutor page goes chapter by chapter, and families still choosing a stream can read the Class 11 stream choice guide.

How are CBSE Class 12 physics theory marks grouped?

The theory paper (042) is worth 70 marks and runs for three hours; practical work adds 30. The 2026-27 sample paper follows last session's design, with 14 NCERT chapters falling into four blocks:

CBSE Class 12 physics theory, 2026-27: the four mark blocks and how a tutor should treat each
BlockMarksTutoring priority
Electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, induction and alternating current33The backbone of the year; circuit and field numericals every week
Optics with electromagnetic waves18The largest single block; ray diagrams drawn to convention
Dual nature of radiation, atoms and nuclei12Short numericals, usually quick marks once formulas are secure
Semiconductor electronics7A small block that pays once the NCERT chapter is secure; transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus

Notes that still teach transistors and logic gates are out of date for the board. The Class 12 physics strategies article lists the derivations that recur, and the Class 12 physics tutor page maps the year.

What does each section of the Class 12 paper ask for?

  • Section A: 16 one-mark items, of which 12 are multiple-choice and 4 are assertion–reason.
  • Section B: five questions of two marks.
  • Section C: seven questions of three marks.
  • Section D: two case studies of four marks each.
  • Section E: three long answers of five marks.

All 33 questions are compulsory. Calculators are not allowed, and the values of physical constants are printed on the paper. Recall earns only about 38% of the marks; the rest goes to applying and analysing, which is why dictated notes alone leave a student underprepared. There is one main Class 12 board exam, and the 2027 date sheet has not been issued, so keep an eye on cbse.gov.in.

How are the 30 practical marks earned?

CBSE Class 12 physics practical: mark split and where home preparation helps
ComponentMarksWhat a tutor can prepare
Two experiments, one per section7 + 7Aim, circuit or ray diagram, observation table and result layout
Practical record5Checking entries for completeness and correct units
One activity3The idea the activity demonstrates, in plain words
Investigatory project3A manageable topic and a clear report structure
Viva on all of the above5Mock questions on errors, precautions and graph slopes

The record must hold at least eight experiments, four from each section, at least six activities, three from each section, and the project report. Apparatus stays at school, but the thinking behind each reading can be rehearsed at home: why several readings are taken, what a slope represents, what would change with a thicker wire.

What do JEE and NEET demand from physics?

JEE Main

In the 2026 pattern, physics supplied 25 of the 75 questions in the computer-based paper: 20 multiple-choice and 5 with a numerical answer, marked +4 and −1. Speed on multi-step problems and honest review of every mock test matter most. See the JEE physics topic-wise guide.

JEE Advanced

In 2026 it was open only to the highest-ranked 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main. Problems combine several ideas at once, so a tutor at this level works from past Advanced papers and asks for full reasoning, not just the answer.

NEET (UG)

The 2026 paper was pen and paper, with physics making up 45 of 180 questions and 180 of 720 marks, again +4 and −1. Accuracy on NCERT concepts and fewer risky guesses count for more than speed. Our high-yield NEET physics chapters list helps.

NTA, not CBSE, publishes the entrance syllabi, and they can include topics the board has dropped; read the current bulletin at nta.ac.in before trimming anything. Our comparison of coaching and a home tutor for JEE discusses how the two fit together, and the JEE physics tutor and NEET physics tutor pages explain our matching.

What should GSEB, ISC, IB and IGCSE families check?

  • GSEB HSC (science stream). The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board sets its own Class 12 syllabus and papers. We stay general: tell us the medium, ask the tutor to teach from the board's prescribed textbook, and take any exam detail from gseb.org.
  • ISC. CISCE examines theory alongside practical and project work, and expects fuller explanations than a one-line CBSE answer. Check that the tutor knows your child's exam year.
  • IB Diploma. A new physics guide was first assessed in May 2025: five themes, A to E, replace the old core-and-options layout, and Paper 3 has gone. Two exam papers make up 80% and a scientific investigation 20%. The IB recommends 150 teaching hours at SL and 240 at HL. The investigation must be the student's own work. Read our IB physics SL and HL guide.
  • Cambridge IGCSE. Entered at Core or Extended. Students moving into Class 11 on another board afterwards often need early work on vectors, graphs and derivations.

Tutors for these courses are fewer than CBSE physics tutors, so name the course in your first message.

Can a physics tutor keep an evening slot in your neighbourhood?

Senior students often get home after coaching, so physics lessons tend to start late, and the route decides whether a tutor can keep that hour. Compare tutors by neighbourhood on our Ahmedabad page.

Along the river, west bank

Ellisbridge is named after the bridge rebuilt in steel in 1892, and its apartment buildings and older homes sit near Gandhigram station on the Red Line, one stop from the Old High Court interchange. Ashram Road is slow at office hours, so late afternoon suits. Bodakdev, along SG Highway, has towers and gated societies whose security logs every visitor; Thaltej and Thaltej Gam on the Blue Line are the nearest stops.

South-west and north

Prahlad Nagar mixes premium gated flats with offices and shops; there is no metro station, so tutors come by road, and gates often phone the family before letting a visitor in. Chandkheda, part of the municipal corporation since January 2008, has large housing board societies and company colonies; Motera Stadium, where the Red Line and the Gandhinagar line begin, is next door.

East bank

Kankaria surrounds the lake completed in 1451. Kankaria East, an underground Blue Line station, opened to commuters in March 2024; lakeside roads fill on Sundays and holidays, so weekday evenings work better. In Amraiwadi, a former cotton-mill district, the Blue Line station opened in May 2019, and many homes open straight onto the lane.

When coaching runs late, one online session a week with the same tutor keeps the plan on track without anyone travelling at the end of the day.

How should a tutor go through a marked physics test?

A returned test paper is the most useful thing you can hand a new tutor. A careful review sorts every lost mark into one of five kinds, because each needs a different fix:

  1. No diagram. The free-body, ray or circuit diagram was skipped, so the direction or sign went wrong.
  2. No principle stated. The answer jumped to an equation without naming the law, where board examiners begin awarding marks.
  3. Units dropped. A power of ten slipped because units were not carried through each line.
  4. Maths error. The physics was right but the algebra or calculus failed.
  5. Concept gap. The idea itself is missing and needs re-teaching.

Bring the last two tests to the free demo. A capable tutor will tell you which kinds dominate before teaching anything new.

What should you budget for a physics tutor in Ahmedabad?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor names their own fee, which reflects the target exam, their experience at that level, the evening journey to your neighbourhood and how many sessions you book each week. Online classes with the same tutor may cost less. You see all fees before the demo.

How do you book a physics demo?

Tell us the class, the board or course, whether the goal is the board exam, JEE or NEET, your neighbourhood, and the evenings free after school and coaching. We reply with two or three matched physics tutors and their fees, and you choose one for a free demo class. If the fit is wrong, we arrange another demo, and changing tutor later is free too. Where no suitable tutor can travel at your hour, we propose online or mixed classes. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national physics home tutor page describes our work elsewhere.

Why does Class 11 physics decide how Class 12 goes for Ahmedabad students?

Class 11 decides Class 12 physics for Ahmedabad students because motion, Newton's laws, energy, rotation and gravitation all lean on vectors, graphs and rates of change. Class 12 reuses the same tools with charges and fields. A tutor who makes components, slopes and areas under curves automatic in the first term saves time later.

Which CBSE Class 12 physics chapters carry the most marks for Ahmedabad students?

For Ahmedabad CBSE students, electricity and magnetism, from electrostatics to alternating current, carry 33 of the 70 Class 12 physics theory marks. Optics with electromagnetic waves adds 18, dual nature, atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the board syllabus, so older notes mislead.

How is the CBSE Class 12 physics paper laid out for Ahmedabad students?

The CBSE Class 12 physics paper Ahmedabad students sit has 33 compulsory questions in five sections. Section A has 16 one-mark items, B five two-mark, C seven three-mark, D two four-mark case studies and E three five-mark long answers. Calculators are not allowed, and recall earns only about 38% of the marks.

How are the CBSE Class 12 physics practical marks earned in Ahmedabad?

Ahmedabad CBSE students earn the 30 physics practical marks from two experiments at 7 each, the record 5, one activity 3, the investigatory project 3 and a viva 5. The record needs at least eight experiments and six activities. Apparatus stays at school, but a home tutor can rehearse viva questions on errors, precautions and graph slopes.

Can I find a physics tutor in Ahmedabad for GSEB HSC science?

Yes, NXTutors matches physics tutors in Ahmedabad for GSEB HSC science students in Gujarati or English medium. Ask the tutor to teach from the board's prescribed Class 12 textbook in your child's medium. We do not describe the GSEB paper pattern here; take any exam detail from the board's own notices at gseb.org.

How much of JEE Main and NEET is physics for Ahmedabad aspirants?

In the 2026 patterns, physics was 25 of 75 JEE Main questions and 45 of 180 NEET (UG) questions, worth 180 of 720 marks, for Ahmedabad aspirants as across India. Both marked +4 and −1. NTA publishes entrance syllabi separately and they can include topics the board dropped, so read the current bulletin.

What changed in IB Diploma physics for Ahmedabad students?

IB Diploma physics for Ahmedabad students follows a new guide first examined in May 2025, with five themes, A to E, replacing core and options. Paper 3 has gone. Two written papers carry 80% and a scientific investigation 20%, which must be the student's own work. The IB recommends 150 hours at SL and 240 at HL.

Can a physics tutor in Ahmedabad keep a late evening slot after coaching?

A physics tutor in Ahmedabad can keep a late evening slot if the route works, such as near Gandhigram on the Red Line or Thaltej on the Blue Line. Prahlad Nagar has no metro, so tutors come by road. When coaching runs late, one online session a week with the same tutor keeps the plan on track.

How should an Ahmedabad physics tutor review my child's marked test?

An Ahmedabad physics tutor should sort every lost mark in a marked test into five kinds: no diagram, no principle stated, units dropped, a maths error or a concept gap. Each needs a different fix. Bring the last two tests to the free demo, and a capable tutor will say which kinds dominate.
