Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Class 11 has no board paper at the end of it, which is why so many students treat it as a rest after Class 10. It is the opposite. Every subject turns into a specialism, the school or the coaching centre sets a much faster pace, and a large part of what the HSC, GUJCET, JEE and NEET later test is first taught this year. Written by Ajay Vatsyayan (IB, IGCSE and ISC maths) together with the NXTutors Academic Team, this page sets out how the Gujarat board organises its higher secondary streams, how Class 11 works on CBSE, ISC and the IB, where the state entrance test fits, which subjects need a tutor in each stream, and how to keep lessons regular from Chandkheda to Isanpur.
Our Ahmedabad city page sums it up: each subject becomes a specialism in Class 11. In maths, functions, limits and vectors replace routine methods. Physics starts to use the language of rates and graphs. Chemistry splits into physical, organic and inorganic strands that need three different ways of studying. Commerce students meet double entry and the accounting equation for the first time. Whatever was weak in Class 10 algebra or trigonometry shows up within a month. And because the school sets the Class 11 exam, a poor year is easy to excuse, even though Class 12 and every entrance test rest on it.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board runs its Std 12 examinations as separate streams, each with its own registration, hall tickets and results. The board's 2026 result notice covers the Science, General, Vocational and Uttar Buniyadi streams, and its paper archive shows which subjects sit in the two largest:
| Stream | Subjects seen in the board's papers | Where a tutor usually helps |
|---|---|---|
| Science (Group A, Group B or Group AB) | Physics (54), Chemistry (52), Mathematics (50) and Biology (56) in the 2026 subject results, with Computer and languages; school practical exams; students are registered in Group A, Group B or Group AB | Maths and physics first; chemistry numericals; biology diagrams |
| General, commerce subjects | Elements of Accountancy, Organisation of Commerce & Management, Statistics, Economics, Secretarial Practice, Computer | Accountancy from the first chapter; statistics |
| General, arts subjects | History, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Politics and languages | Answer structure for long questions, in short bursts |
The board links a subject-wise question bank that covers Std 11 as well as Std 12, and for the science stream it has published model papers in physics, chemistry, biology and maths, and even JEE practice papers. Subject combinations depend on the school, so confirm yours there and on gseb.org. Our Gujarat Board tutors in Ahmedabad page covers the board in full, and commerce home tutors in Ahmedabad plans the commerce side.
Our CBSE, ICSE and ISC and IB pages for Ahmedabad go into each board.
| Test | Conducted by | Who it is for | Habit to build now |
|---|---|---|---|
| GUJCET | Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board | Group A, B and AB students of the HSC Science stream seeking degree engineering or diploma and degree pharmacy admission | Steady accuracy on textbook-level problems in every chapter |
| JEE (Main) | National Testing Agency | Engineering aspirants; two sessions; maths, physics and chemistry, 75 questions for 300 marks in three hours | Accuracy before speed, given +4 and −1 marking |
| NEET (UG) | National Testing Agency | Medical aspirants; one pen-and-paper exam of 180 questions for 720 marks in 180 minutes, half of them biology | NCERT-level recall and careful elimination |
Our city page makes a practical point: the NCERT books for Classes 11 and 12 carry both the board papers and much of the entrance syllabus, so one well-run plan can serve both. A Class 11 tutor is, in effect, also teaching the first half of the entrance course. Because patterns change, confirm details each year on gseb.org, jeemain.nta.nic.in and neet.nta.nic.in, and see our GUJCET tutors in Ahmedabad, JEE and NEET pages.
Two subject tutors at most. A week that holds school, coaching and three separate tutors has no hours left for the student's own practice, which is where marks are actually made.
Some students move from CBSE or ICSE into a Gujarat board school for Std 11, and some move the other way. Either move means new textbooks, possibly a new medium, and a different answer style. Complete the admission formalities with the new school early, then let the tutor spend the first sessions mapping what the student already knows against the new books and filling only the real gaps. If the move is still undecided, read our post on how to choose a board and stream first.
Plan the Navratri and Diwali weeks in advance so the routine bends rather than breaks. The plan continues on our Class 12 home tutors in Ahmedabad page.
Senior students have long days, so a tutor's journey has to fit a narrow evening window. On the west bank, the Navrangpura, Paldi & Ellisbridge zone has both metro lines, and the Red Line runs on north through Naranpura, Gota & Chandkheda, where tutors from Gandhinagar can also ride in via Motera Stadium. In Satellite, Vastrapur & Bodakdev, only the northern half has stations. Prahlad Nagar, Bopal & Shela has none, so a specialist subject there often goes online.
On the east bank, Maninagar, Isanpur & Kankaria has the main-line station and BRTS, Nikol, Naroda & Bapunagar has the eastern Blue Line stations, and Shahibaug, Asarwa & Meghaninagar is reached by road. Wherever you live, give us the nearest station or crossroads; it decides who can come.
By sixteen, most students can learn well through a screen, and that flexibility helps on coaching evenings or when the specialist you want, say for IB Higher Level or ISC maths, lives across the Sabarmati. A tutor in the room is still worth it for a student who loses focus halfway through a long problem set. A mixed week, short online sessions on school days and one unhurried home lesson on Saturday or Sunday, is common, provided the tutor can see the student's working as it is written. See online tutors for Ahmedabad students.
You pay nothing for this first lesson, and moving to another tutor later costs nothing either. Every tutor who joins passes an ID check before the profile is marked Verified.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Class 11 the quote moves with the subject and board, with how much GUJCET or JEE-level problem solving you want included, and with how far the tutor travels. Tutors set their own rates and you see each one in advance; see the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Ahmedabad.
Ambawadi has Shreyas station in its Sukhipura part and Paldi one stop away, which suits a tutor riding the Red Line from the north or south. Satellite, a long-settled area of apartment complexes and plotted bungalow lanes, has no station, so tutors come by two-wheeler, auto or BRTS. South Bopal is reached on BRTS Route 17 from Nehru Nagar, or by road along the ring road and SG Highway.
Gota lies along SG Highway without a metro stop, so a tutor already on that side of the highway is the practical choice. Maninagar is split by the railway, with its station and a footbridge to the BRTS at the centre. And Naroda, with its old village core of Juna Naroda and the newer Nava Naroda, has a railway station on the Udaipur line but no metro, so mid-evening slots avoid industrial traffic.
Send us the board, stream and group, the subjects, any entrance test in view, your locality and the evenings that are free. A shortlist of two or three tutors, each with a fee, follows. You can also ask for a free demo now, look through tutor profiles, or pick your area on home tutors in Ahmedabad.
To find a Class 11 home tutor in Ahmedabad, send the board, stream and group, subjects, any entrance test in view, your locality and free evenings. We shortlist two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Ahmedabad, the Class 11 quote moves with the subject, board, how much GUJCET or JEE-level work you want and the tutor's journey.
Often, yes: a Class 11 student in Ahmedabad needs steady help because each subject becomes a specialism and the pace rises, even without a board exam. Much of what the HSC, GUJCET, JEE and NEET test is taught this year. The school sets the Class 11 exam, so weaknesses are easy to ignore until Class 12.
The Gujarat board runs Std 12 exams for Ahmedabad students as separate streams, chiefly Science and General, alongside Vocational and Uttar Buniyadi, each with its own registration and results. Science students are registered in Group A, Group B or Group AB. Commerce subjects such as Elements of Accountancy and Statistics sit in the General stream.
GUJCET is the Gujarat Common Entrance Test, held by the state board for Group A, B and AB HSC Science students, including in Ahmedabad, who seek engineering or pharmacy admission. In Class 11 the habit to build is steady accuracy on textbook-level problems in every chapter. Registration and the information booklet appear on gseb.org each year.
For Ahmedabad Class 11 science students with maths, maths usually needs a tutor most, then physics mechanics; for biology students, physics numericals more often than biology. Commerce students need accountancy from the first chapter, and arts students benefit from feedback on long answers. Keep to two subject tutors at most.
Largely, yes: a Class 11 tutor in Ahmedabad can serve boards and JEE or NEET together, because NCERT books carry much of both syllabi. A good tutor teaches each idea as a board answer, then as an entrance-style question. Confirm each test's pattern yearly on its official site.
Class 11 in Ahmedabad works differently by board: CBSE runs a two-year composite course, ISC freezes subject choices after 15 September, and the IB starts the Diploma's first year. CBSE students cannot take both Mathematics 041 and Applied Mathematics 241. IB students begin CAS straight away, since it must run for at least eighteen months.
A student changing board after Class 10 in Ahmedabad faces new textbooks, possibly a new medium and a different answer style. Complete admission formalities with the new school early, then let the tutor spend the first sessions mapping what the student knows against the new books and filling only the real gaps.
Online tuition suits most Class 11 students in Ahmedabad, especially on coaching evenings or when the specialist you want lives across the Sabarmati. A student who loses focus halfway through long problem sets may do better at home. Many families mix short weekday online sessions with one unhurried home lesson at the weekend.
An Ahmedabad Class 11 tutor should open the first term with a short test of what each subject assumes from Class 10, then close those gaps alongside new chapters. After the first school test, sort every lost mark into did not know, misread or careless, and adjust the weekly hours. Plan Navratri and Diwali weeks in advance.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
