Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. A family in Sector 117 can book a tutor who comes to the flat or house, or one who teaches online. Share the class, board and subject with NXTutors, plus whether you live in the authority flats, a Unitech society or a builder floor, and we come back with two or three matched tutors. Their fees are visible before anything is booked, the opening lesson is a free demo, and you are free to change tutor later without paying extra.
Sector 117 is part of the Near Noida Extension zone in Noida. It is a mixed sector: Noida Authority flats in an abadi pocket, Unitech group-housing projects, small apartment blocks and independent houses all sit within it. This guide works through what each of those means for a tutor's visit.
| Point | Sector 117 |
|---|---|
| Zone | Near Noida Extension, between Sector 116 and Sectors 118 to 120 |
| Housing | Samajwadi Awas Yojana flats in the abadi area, Unitech projects (some still being built), Shree Krishna Apartments, builder floors and houses |
| Metro | No station in the sector; the Aqua Line stations at Noida Sector 76 and Noida Sector 50 lie to the west |
| Roads | Greater Noida West Link Road, the Sector 71–79 link road, Dadri Road, with FNG Expressway access |
| Closest sectors | Sector 120, Sector 118, Sector 74, Sector 119 and Sector 115, all within about 1.3 km |
| Everyday shops | A Supertech Mart about 0.6 km away; larger malls are further off |
| What to plan for | Busy-hour congestion, and an authority-flat pocket without its own park |
Sector 117 does not have one kind of home. Its most distinctive part is the abadi pocket, a 5% plot area where the Noida Authority built about 300 flats under the Samajwadi Awas Yojana. A 2022 Economic Times report, reposted by a property site, put the population of that pocket at over 2,000 people, including many children, and described blocks with letters such as S and B.
Around it are private projects. Square Yards lists four in the sector:
Square Yards also names Unitech Unihomes II in the sector, and its listing data show builder floors and independent houses alongside the flats. NoBroker adds smaller listings such as a Zodiac building. So a single lane in Sector 117 can move from a gated Unitech society to a row of builder floors to an authority block.
For tuition, the type of home shapes the lesson. A compact 1 BHK or an authority flat often has no spare room, so the lesson happens at a table in the main room; it helps if the television stays off and younger siblings have something else to do. A 3 BHK in a Unitech society usually leaves a room free. A builder floor sits somewhere in between.
Public sources on Sector 117 are thin, but they agree on a few points. Here is what each means when you book a tutor.
Under these sit the usual questions: will the tutor come on the same days every week, do they know the school's board, and is online better for a senior subject?
Sector 117 has no metro station of its own. On OpenStreetMap, the nearest Aqua Line stations are Noida Sector 76 and Rainbow, which some maps still label Noida Sector 50, both to the west beyond Sectors 74 to 76. A tutor who takes the metro will usually finish the trip by e-rickshaw or two-wheeler, or be dropped off. The Aqua Line runs roughly from 6 am to 10 pm, with variation on weekends and holidays, so a late lesson suits a tutor with their own vehicle.
Square Yards names the Greater Noida West Link Road, the Sector 71–79 link road and Dadri Road among the roads serving the sector's projects, and its reviews mention easy access to the FNG Expressway. A tutor coming from the Sector 50 or Sector 62 side is likely to use the link roads; one from the south may use Dadri Road.
The shortest trips are from next door. Square Yards places Sector 120 about 0.67 km away, Sector 118 about 0.74 km, Sector 74 about 0.87 km, Sector 119 about 1 km and Sector 115 about 1.3 km. A tutor who already teaches a child in one of those sectors can often add your lesson to the same evening.
If a tutor is coming from Greater Noida West, ask how their route runs. Gaur Chowk, or Char Murti Chowk, has had underpass work, and news reports describe queues of several kilometres at peak hours. We do not give minutes for any of these trips; they vary too much from one hour to the next.
The arrangements depend on where you live. In a Unitech society, add the tutor to the visitor list or your society app before the demo, and send the society name, gate, tower and flat number. Ask the office how a regular visitor can be pre-approved so later lessons do not wait at the gate.
In the authority flats, the issue is finding the right block. Send the block letter, flat number and a map pin, and if your block is near a landmark the tutor will recognise, say so. NoBroker lists an apartment in Shree Krishna Apartment by block and gate number, which shows how much those details matter on a first visit. For a builder floor or house, name the floor and point out where a scooter can be parked without blocking the lane.
Keep an adult at home for every lesson, and keep the door of the study area open for younger children. If you would rather have a woman tutor, include that in your request; we look for a female home tutor for Noida families who can come to Sector 117 or teach online. Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, with a one-time code on their phone or email and a government photo ID that our team reviews. It is an identity check, not a police or background check; see how tutor ID checks work and judge the teaching at the demo.
Because Sector 117 mixes authority housing with private societies, requests from here can cover CBSE, UP Board and ICSE, and now and then IB or IGCSE. A tutor should be told the board on day one, because the books, the marking and the language of answers all follow from it.
For UP Board, the key detail is the medium. UPMSP publishes notices mostly in Hindi, and a tutor needs to know whether your child writes in Hindi or English to choose the right books; our UP Board tutors in Noida page has more. For CBSE, the tutor works from NCERT books and the sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in. For a full comparison of the boards, see our board comparison guide.
For young children, short lessons of 45 minutes to an hour, three or four times a week, work well. In a small flat, clear one corner of the table and keep the school diary there, so the tutor can see what the teacher wants without hunting through bags. Reading aloud and number work are easy to practise at home.
These years set up the board classes, especially in Maths and Science. Many families choose one tutor for both. Ask the tutor to check the school notebook every week; in a busy household, that weekly look is often the only time anyone reviews the classwork closely. A science home tutor in Noida is a frequent request at this stage.
Board work starts in Class 9. Lessons of around 90 minutes, two or three times a week, allow time for teaching and for a short timed test. For UP Board students, ask the tutor to practise answers in the same medium the child will write in the exam.
Most families now take a tutor per subject. Physics, Chemistry and Maths are the common trio for science students, with Accountancy and Economics for commerce. If an entrance exam is planned, some families keep a home tutor for board subjects and add an online teacher for entrance preparation, because a centre trip from Sector 117 can eat into the evening.
Board exams for most students here fall early in the calendar year. UP Board posts its High School and Intermediate programme on upmsp.edu.in, CISCE publishes ICSE and ISC timetables on cisce.org, and CBSE publishes its dates on cbse.gov.in. IB Diploma exams are in May and November, and Cambridge IGCSE in March, June and November series. Take dates only from these sites, and agree with the tutor when the switch from teaching to revision will happen.
A home tutor saves your child a trip and lets you see how lessons go. In Sector 117, the main catch is the busy-hour traffic on the tutor's route, so a tutor from Sector 118, 119 or 120 is often the most reliable for a weekly slot.
Online lessons are the practical choice for rain days, exam weeks, and senior subjects where the right teacher lives far away. See our online tuition for Noida page.
A coaching centre puts the travel on the student. With no metro station in the sector, that usually means a lift or an e-rickshaw ride for each class. Many families combine a home tutor for school subjects with one online or centre class for a specialist need.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own rate, and in Sector 117 you see it on the shortlist before you book the demo.
The class and board, the subject, the lesson length and the number of lessons each week are what move a fee most. Travel plays a part: a tutor who is already teaching in Sector 118 or 120 has a short hop, while one who must cross the link roads at rush hour may prefer longer, less frequent lessons.
Ask at the start how holidays, cancelled lessons and extra pre-exam classes are counted, so the month-end amount is what you expected.
We found no public library or community study room in Sector 117 in the sources we checked, and the authority-flat pocket was reported in 2022 to have no park. Some Unitech societies may have their own shared rooms; check society rules before planning to use one. For most students here, the quiet corner at home is where study happens.

AI-first tutoring, with real teachers
You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Sector 117 you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Where AI stops and people start
Move out to the wider area or in to nearby sectors. Tutors usually travel short distances, so the closest areas are the most useful places to look.

When a home tutor and an online class are both possible, the choice can come down to the subject. For a Sector 117 student taking Accountancy, Economics or a specialist IB course, an online teacher can be a good fit, while a home tutor suits steady weekly practice in Science. You can ask for either, or a mix.
Say what the class, board and subject are, and whether a school exam is approaching. Two or three tutors will be put forward, and you can see each fee before the first class. The Accountancy home tutors page shows more if commerce is your focus.
This page is part of Near Noida Extension, a zone of eight pages on our site that includes Sector 115 and Sector 119. Before booking, ask any tutor how they will share progress with you and what they expect from your child between classes. Since the opening lesson is free, the decision comes after your child has actually been taught. And if a tutor stops suiting your family later in the year, you can switch without paying anything extra, then try a new tutor's demo before settling again.
