Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A three-, four- or five-year-old does not need lessons in the school sense. What helps is a patient adult who turns sounds, stories, counting and drawing into games, a little at a time, so that when Class 1 arrives the child already enjoys books and numbers. In Hyderabad that adult may be visiting a tower in Nanakramguda or a family house in Saroornagar, and the child may hear Telugu, Hindi, Urdu or English at home. This guide from the NXTutors Academic Team explains when an early-years tutor is worth having, what sessions should build, how the play-based programmes describe these years, how to fit short visits into a Hyderabad day, and how to keep home visits safe.
Most young children learn what they need from play, conversation and a good preschool. An early-years tutor earns a place in a few situations:
If a child is anxious or simply not ready, pushing worksheets will do more harm than good. A good tutor at this age follows the child's interest and keeps every session short.
| Skill | Nursery | LKG | UKG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Language | Joins in rhymes; names everyday things | Tells you about their day in short sentences | Retells a story in order |
| Early reading | Enjoys picture books | Hears the first sound in familiar words | Blends simple sounds into short words |
| Numbers | Counts a few objects by touching each | Counts reliably to twenty | Adds and takes away small numbers with objects |
| Hand control | Scribbles and colours | Draws simple shapes | Writes their name and some letters |
| Attention | A few minutes on one activity | Finishes a short task | Follows a two-step instruction |
Children reach these at different times. The table is a guide to conversation with the tutor, not a checklist to test a child against.
| Minutes | Activity | What it builds |
|---|---|---|
| 0–5 | Hello song, and the child chooses a toy or book to start with | Settling, choice, talking |
| 5–15 | A picture book read together, pausing to ask what comes next | Listening, vocabulary, prediction |
| 15–22 | A sound game: things in the room that start with the same sound | Hearing sounds in words |
| 22–30 | Counting with blocks, buttons or fruit; building towers of five and ten | Number sense |
| 30–37 | Playdough, threading or colouring, then tracing a letter or two | Hand strength and control |
| 37–40 | Tidying up together and a short goodbye routine | Finishing and transitions |
No two visits need to look alike. What matters is variety, movement between activities, and stopping each one before the child loses interest.
The step into Class 1 is as much about routine as about letters. In the last months of UKG, a tutor can practise the small things that make the first weeks easier: sitting at a table for ten minutes, following an instruction given to a group, opening a bag and finding the right book, asking for help in a full sentence, and writing their own name. Tell the tutor which board and school language your child is heading for, so the play gradually leans towards the sounds and words that classroom will use.
Many Hyderabad children grow up hearing two or three languages, and that is a strength, not a problem to fix. A tutor should build on the home language: stories and rhymes in Telugu, Hindi or Urdu develop the same listening and vocabulary skills that later carry over into English reading. If the child's school teaches in English and the home language is different, ask the tutor to use simple English during play while letting the child answer in whichever language comes naturally. Tell us in your request which languages the child hears and uses.
The IB describes learning for children aged 3 to 5 as inquiry through play. A tutor working with a PYP family should follow the child's questions, talk about what they notice, and avoid drilling.
Cambridge's programme for 3 to 6 year olds is child-centred and play-based, with areas such as communication and literacy, mathematics, personal and social development, and physical development.
SCERT Telangana publishes pre-primary curricular resources and foundational literacy and numeracy material. A tutor supporting a child heading for a state board school can use them to match what the classroom will expect.
For IB families, our IB tutors in Hyderabad page covers the later years; for the state board, see Telangana board tutors.
For this age, thirty to forty-five minutes, two or three times a week, is plenty. The right slot is usually after a nap or a snack, not straight after preschool. Travel matters because a tutor who arrives late eats into a session that is already short.
| Zone | How tutors come | Slot that tends to work |
|---|---|---|
| Gachibowli, Kondapur & Madhapur | Raidurg station, then cab or auto; tower gates register visitors | Mid-afternoon, before office traffic |
| Kukatpally, Miyapur & Nizampet | Miyapur or JNTU College on the Red Line, then an auto | Late afternoon, with a map pin for the colony |
| Manikonda, Narsingi & Kokapet | By road; a tutor already working nearby is steadiest | Weekend mornings |
| Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills & Somajiguda | Jubilee Hills Check Post, then an auto into the lanes | Before the evening rush on the main roads |
| Sainikpuri, Alwal & Trimulgherry | Fatehnagar on the MMTS, or by road | A tutor from the northern colonies |
| Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar & Vanasthalipuram | Red Line to Dilsukhnagar or LB Nagar | Late afternoon, after the market's busiest hours |
At home, almost always. Small children learn through touch, movement and a face across the table, and a screen cannot hand over a block or guide a finger along a letter. A short online story or song session can work as an extra, with a parent beside the child, but it should not replace the visit. If the nearest suitable tutor lives far away, it is usually better to choose a slightly less experienced tutor from your own side of the city than to rely on a screen at this age.
The first class is free, and you can switch tutor later at no cost. Our demo class checklist has more ideas.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Early-years sessions are short and usually priced toward the lower end; the journey to your locality and the number of visits a week shape the quote. Every fee is shown before the demo. In Nanakramguda, part of the Financial District, most families live in high-rise gated towers, so share the tutor's name with security ahead of time. Bachupally, north of Miyapur, has gated colonies and independent houses, with easier parking than the denser suburbs. Khajaguda, known for its granite hill and lake, is largely apartment complexes beside office buildings.
Film Nagar's green lanes hold independent houses and apartment buildings, and tutors usually take an auto from Jubilee Hills Check Post. Bowenpally, near Begumpet Airport, is reached mostly by road, and in Saroornagar, around its old lake, many families live in their own houses on colony roads.
When your child moves up, see primary tutors for Class 1 to 5. Tell us the child's age, preschool, languages at home, locality and good times; we suggest two or three tutors with fees shown. Book a free demo, see tutor profiles or browse home tutors in Hyderabad.
Most nursery and KG children in Hyderabad do not need a home tutor, because they learn what they need through play, talk and a good preschool. A tutor helps when parents work long hours, a child is starting a new school or language of instruction, or a teacher notices difficulty with sounds or pencil work.
To find an early-years tutor in Hyderabad, tell us your child's age, preschool, the languages heard at home, your locality and good times. We suggest two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

For nursery and KG children in Hyderabad, thirty to forty-five minutes, two or three times a week, is plenty. Several short activities work better than one long one, and stopping while the child still enjoys it keeps them keen. A slot after a nap or snack suits most children, rather than straight after preschool.
A KG tutor in Hyderabad should teach reading and writing gently and in the right order: sounds before letters, and hand-strengthening play before pencil work. By UKG many children blend simple sounds and write their name. Children develop at different speeds, so the tutor follows the child rather than a fixed worksheet schedule.
No, a Hyderabad child hearing Telugu, Hindi or Urdu at home has a strength, not a problem. Stories, songs and talk in the home language build the listening and vocabulary skills that later support English reading. Ask the tutor to use simple English in play while the child answers in whichever language comes naturally.
Nursery and KG tuition in Hyderabad should not be online as the main arrangement, because small children learn through touch, movement and a person beside them. A short online story or song session with a parent alongside can be a useful extra. A slightly less experienced tutor from your own side of the city usually beats a screen.
A tutor can help a UKG child in Hyderabad get ready for Class 1 by practising routine as much as letters. That means sitting at a table for ten minutes, following a group instruction, finding the right book, asking for help in a full sentence and writing their own name. Tell the tutor the next school's board and language.
To keep home visits safe for a young child in Hyderabad, keep an adult at home during every session and use a shared room with the door open. Register the tutor at the gate or visitor app and check the person matches the profile. Tutors who join go through an ID check, which is not a police or background check.
In a free demo with a Hyderabad nursery tutor, watch whether they get down to the child's level and start with play, not paper. Notice whether your child smiles, talks and wants to carry on, and whether the tutor changes activity when attention drops. Afterwards they should tell you what they noticed and plan next.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
