Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Hyderabad commerce students reach accountancy by several roads. Most Telangana SSC students move into the two-year Intermediate course; others stay with CBSE or CISCE for Classes 11 and 12; and in the international schools, students may meet IGCSE Accounting in Grade 9 or Cambridge A Level later on. A tutor who suits one of these may be a poor fit for another, so this page starts with the course, then turns to the practical part: getting a tutor across a city where the metro, the MMTS and the Outer Ring Road decide who can reach you on a weekday evening. For the complete syllabus picture, see our national accountancy home tutor guide.
| Course | What the exam looks like | Worth checking |
|---|---|---|
| Telangana Intermediate, commerce groups | Two years under the state's Board of Intermediate Education, with its own textbooks and question papers | The tutor's recent experience with the Intermediate textbook and past papers |
| CBSE Accountancy (055) | 80 marks of theory in three hours plus 20 marks of project work, in both Class 11 and Class 12 | Which Class 12 Part B option the school teaches |
| ISC Accounts (858), with Commerce (857) | 80-mark papers of three hours; two 10-mark projects in each subject each year | Section B or Section C in Class 12 |
| Cambridge IGCSE Accounting (0452) | Paper 1: 40 multiple-choice questions, 30%; Paper 2: five compulsory structured questions, 70% | Past-paper practice by syllabus code |
| Cambridge AS and A Level Accounting (9706) | Two AS papers and two A Level papers, one of them on cost and management accounting | Whether the tutor has taught costing at this depth |
| IB Diploma | No separate accounting course; Business Management and Economics are the neighbouring subjects | The exact Business Management unit |
Families switching boards at Class 11, say from SSC to CBSE or from IGCSE into Intermediate, should mention both the old and new course. The double-entry ideas carry over; the formats, the textbook and the marking do not.
For a large number of Hyderabad families, Class 11 and 12 means the Intermediate course, which follows the SSC and is taken in groups of subjects. Commerce-based groups include accountancy. We keep our description general on purpose: the scheme of examination and the dates are published by the Board of Intermediate Education, and families should rely on those notices rather than on any summary, ours included.
What matters when choosing a tutor is fit with the course. An Intermediate student needs someone who teaches from the prescribed textbook, follows the chapter order the college uses and practises with the board's past and model papers. The underlying skills are the same as on any board: journal entries reasoned from the accounting equation, ledger balancing without guesswork, adjustments shown in both places in the final accounts, and short theory answers in proper terms. Say "first year" or "second year" and name the group, and we look for tutors who have taught it.
Theoretical framework 12 marks, the accounting process 44 (vouchers to trial balance, with bank reconciliation, depreciation and rectification), and sole proprietorship financial statements 24, with incomplete records. Basic GST in recording transactions is a Class 11 topic. Computerised Accounting is compulsory this year.
Partnership firms 36 and companies 24 are compulsory. The last 20 theory marks are either analysis of statements (12) and cash flow (8), or Computerised Accounting. The project, on a company's statements, carries 12 for the file and 8 for the viva.
Class 11 opens with a compulsory 20-mark Part I of short answers, then five 12-mark questions from eight. In Class 12, Section A on partnership and companies is compulsory for 60 marks, and students choose Section B (analysis and cash flow) or Section C (spreadsheets and databases) for 20.
CBSE's suggested design gives roughly 40% of the theory marks to remembering and understanding, 30% to applying and 30% to higher-order analysis. The last band is where a one-to-one tutor helps most: a student who can only reproduce worked solutions stalls there, while one who can read an unfamiliar adjustment and explain the treatment gains.
The NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin includes Accountancy / Book Keeping as domain subject 301: 50 questions, every one compulsory, in 60 minutes, set on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. CBSE students have the content already; Intermediate and ISC students should ask the tutor to compare their chapters with NCERT's and close the gaps. Speed with multiple-choice questions is the new skill, practised once board preparation is secure. Each cycle has its own bulletin, so check the current one.
Any family can request a home accountancy tutor. Whether one can come every week depends on the route, and where the journey is too long, online lessons widen the choice. The table gives the usual way in for each zone.
| Zone | Usual route for a tutor |
|---|---|
| Gachibowli, Kondapur and Madhapur, e.g. Kondapur | HITEC City station for Kondapur and Madhapur, Raidurg for Gachibowli; Hafizpet MMTS from the Lingampalli line |
| Kukatpally, Miyapur and Nizampet, e.g. KPHB Colony | Red Line, then a walk or short auto; a map pin for Nizampet and Bachupally |
| Manikonda, Narsingi and Kokapet | Mostly two-wheeler or car via the ORR; towers register every visitor |
| Chandanagar, Lingampally and Tellapur | MMTS to Chandanagar, Hafizpet or Lingampalli and a short auto; Tellapur by road |
| Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Somajiguda, e.g. Banjara Hills | Jubilee Hills Check Post, Punjagutta or Khairatabad station; give road and house number |
| Ameerpet, Begumpet and Punjagutta | The Ameerpet interchange, reachable directly from several lines |
| Khairatabad, Himayatnagar and Abids, e.g. Himayatnagar | Narayanguda or Chikkadpally on the Green Line; Assembly or Nampally for Abids |
| Secunderabad, Marredpally and Tarnaka | Parade Ground on the Blue and Green Lines, then an auto |
| Sainikpuri, Alwal and Trimulgherry, e.g. Sainikpuri | By road; tutors living in the northern colonies are the practical choice |
| Uppal, Habsiguda and Nacharam | Blue Line to Uppal, Nagole or Habsiguda, then an auto with a landmark |
| Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram, e.g. Dilsukhnagar | Red Line to Chaitanyapuri, Dilsukhnagar or LB Nagar; metro beats driving here |
| Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and Attapur | By road; in Attapur, give the expressway pillar number |
Our west Hyderabad and east and south Hyderabad guides go into commute times and society entry, and the Hyderabad home tuition page lists every area.
Accountancy is pen-and-paper work, and the useful moment is the instant a student posts an entry to the wrong side. That is easiest to catch sitting beside them, so home lessons are a strong choice while Class 11 or first-year Intermediate foundations are laid. Online lessons hold up well once the tutor can see the notebook clearly through a phone on a stand or a writing tablet, with homework photographed and sent ahead. For Computerised Accounting or ISC Section C, a shared screen is often better than a visit.
Where the trip is long, as it can be for Tellapur or the newer Kokapet towers, families commonly split the week: a home lesson at the weekend for partnership or final accounts, and a weekday online session for theory and doubts. Online lessons also reach Cambridge costing specialists and IB Business Management tutors in other cities.
The demo class checklist for parents covers preparation. If it is not the right fit, we set up the next tutor's demo.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees; the course, the distance to your colony and the number of lessons a week shape them. Every shortlisted fee is visible before the demo. See the Hyderabad home tuition fees guide and our pricing guide.
Send the course and year, the chapters that are hurting, your colony or community with a landmark, the hours that work and whether you prefer home, online or both. We shortlist two or three accountancy tutors with their fees, the first class is a free demo, and moving to another tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified.
Many commerce students also want help with economics in Hyderabad, maths or English. For whole-board support, see CBSE tutors in Hyderabad and ICSE and ISC tutors. If your child is still deciding on a stream, our stream choice guide and Class 11 page (both written for Gurugram) set out what commerce asks of a student. Tutors can find open requests on Hyderabad tuition jobs.
Yes, on request. Tell us the year and the group your child takes, and we look for tutors who teach from the prescribed Intermediate textbook and practise with the board's past and model papers. For the exam scheme and dates, rely on the Board of Intermediate Education's own official notices.
Ask the school first. CBSE Class 12 offers either financial statement analysis with the cash flow statement, or Computerised Accounting, for 20 marks. ISC offers Section B or Section C for the same 20 marks. A tutor strong in ratios may not teach spreadsheets well, so we match on the option.
Often, yes. Tutors come by metro to HITEC City or Raidurg station, or by MMTS to Hafizpet, and finish by auto. Register them with the tower's visitor app before the demo, and choose a slot that ends before office traffic builds on the old Mumbai Highway.
It can be, though journeys from the city are long. Families there often do better with weekend home lessons, or a mix of one home lesson and one online session each week. Register the tutor at the community gate before the first visit so the lesson starts on time.
Usually not separate content. The NTA's 2026 bulletin sets Accountancy / Book Keeping (code 301) as 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Intermediate and ISC students should map their chapters to NCERT's, then practise timed multiple-choice questions once board work is secure.
Yes. The first class with the tutor you pick from the shortlist is a free demo, taught on whatever your child is studying that week. If it is not the right fit, we arrange a demo with the next tutor, and switching tutor later on is free as well.
