Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Ask five Hyderabad students what economics involves and you may get five answers. An Intermediate student thinks of the state textbook; a CBSE student of statistics in Class 11 and a project in Class 12; an ISC candidate of long 12-mark answers; a Cambridge student of data responses and essays; and an IB student of the internal assessment portfolio. A good tutor for one is not automatically good for another. Below we set out how the courses differ, how tutors reach each part of the twin cities, and how to judge the free demo. Our national economics home tutor guide holds the full syllabus detail.
| Board | First year (Class 11) | Second year (Class 12) |
|---|---|---|
| Telangana Intermediate | Economics within the Intermediate subject groups, taught from the board's textbooks; check the scheme in the Board of Intermediate Education's notices | |
| CBSE (030) | Statistics for Economics 40, Introductory Microeconomics 40, project 20 | Introductory Macroeconomics 40, Indian Economic Development 40, project 20 |
| ISC (856) | Basic concepts, Indian economic development, statistics | Micro theory, income and employment, money and banking, balance of payments, public finance, national income |
| Cambridge IGCSE (0455) | Six sections from the basic economic problem to international trade; a multiple-choice paper and a structured paper | |
| Cambridge AS and A Level (9708) | AS: multiple choice, data response and two-part essays | A Level: multiple choice, data response and unstructured essays |
| IB Economics | SL Papers 1 and 2 plus internal assessment; HL adds Paper 3, a policy paper | |

Most Telangana SSC students carry on to the Intermediate course under the Board of Intermediate Education, and economics is taught in several of its subject groups. We say no more about its paper design than that, since the board publishes the scheme and timetable itself and those notices are what a tutor should work from.
In choosing an Intermediate economics tutor, look for three things: teaching from the prescribed book rather than a CBSE guide, regular timed practice on the board's past papers, and attention to the habits every paper rewards, namely exact definitions, neat labelled diagrams and numericals set out step by step. Tell us the year, the group and the medium of instruction when you ask.
Economics papers on every board reward four habits: definitions in exact terms, diagrams that are fully labelled and referred to, numericals with the working shown, and from Class 12 upwards, evaluation that weighs one effect against another. A tutor's first job is to find which of these is missing.
Here is the kind of numerical a tutor drills. A good's price falls from ₹50 to ₹40 and the quantity bought rises from 200 to 260 units. Quantity changes by +30% and price by −20%, so price elasticity of demand is 30 ÷ −20 = −1.5. Demand is elastic, and spending on the good rises from ₹10,000 to ₹10,400. The arithmetic earns some marks; explaining what the result means for a seller considering a price cut earns the rest.
On CBSE, the project needs early attention: one piece a session, 3,500 to 4,000 words, marked for relevance (3), knowledge and research (6), presentation (3) and viva (8). On ISC, 60 of the 80 theory marks sit in five 12-mark answers, so full answers to time matter more than notes. On both, the student's own work must stay their own.
A sensible order for a tutor working across the two years, on any of the Indian boards:
Some of Hyderabad's international schools teach the IB and Cambridge IGCSE. IB Economics, in group 3 of the Diploma, is built around nine key concepts and four units, with 150 recommended teaching hours at SL and 240 at HL. Assessment weightings differ by level: at SL, Paper 1 is 30%, Paper 2 is 40% and the internal assessment 30%; at HL, Paper 1 is 20%, Paper 2 30%, the Paper 3 policy paper 30% and the internal assessment 20%. The internal assessment is three commentaries on published news extracts, each on a different unit and key concept. A tutor may teach the method on other articles but must not write the commentaries. See our IB tutors in Hyderabad page for the rest of the Diploma.
For Cambridge, the step to watch is from AS to A Level: the A Level Paper 4 essays come without the two-part structure that guides AS answers, so planning becomes the student's job. IGCSE students mostly need firm vocabulary and tidy structured answers.
The NTA's 2026 CUET (UG) bulletin lists Economics / Business Economics as domain subject 309, with 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Intermediate and ISC students should compare their syllabus with NCERT's first. The test rewards quick recognition and short, accurate calculation, so it works as a layer over board preparation. Use the bulletin for your own admission year.
Families anywhere in Hyderabad can ask for a home economics tutor. Where the weekly trip is unreliable, online lessons widen the choice to tutors across the city and beyond.
In Gachibowli, Kondapur and Madhapur, around Madhapur, tell the tutor whether the guard calls the flat before letting visitors up. In Manikonda, Narsingi and Kokapet, Manikonda included, a tutor already teaching in the Financial District is often the steadiest, and one home plus one online lesson suits specialist courses. Chandanagar, Lingampally and Tellapur homes need the colony and house number, or a gate entry in Tellapur.
Kukatpally, Miyapur and Nizampet slow down at Miyapur X Roads in the evening peak, so for Miyapur start before the rush or leave a margin after it.
Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Somajiguda roads 1, 3 and 36 carry heavy office traffic, so weekend mornings help. In Ameerpet, Begumpet and Punjagutta, share the floor and a landmark for buildings with several households. Khairatabad, Himayatnagar and Abids market streets are calmer on weekday afternoons; tell the watchman the tutor's days.
In Secunderabad, Marredpally and Tarnaka, homes in Tarnaka are easier to find with the colony name and a map pin. Sainikpuri, Alwal and Trimulgherry colony gates near defence areas may check visitors, so name the gate in advance.
Uppal, Habsiguda and Nacharam evenings are steadier after the rush clears at Uppal X Roads. Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram lessons in Vanasthalipuram need time for the auto ride from LB Nagar. In Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and Attapur, the Tolichowki crossroads are crowded at office hours.
The central Hyderabad guide and the Hyderabad home tuition page have more on each area.
Economics adapts well to a screen. A diagram on a shared whiteboard is as clear as one on paper, a news story can be opened together, and an essay can be marked in a shared document between lessons. For IB HL or A Level, online teaching also lets you choose a tutor who has taught the exact course, wherever they live. Home lessons still suit younger IGCSE students, students who drift on screen, and first-year statistics, where sitting beside the student catches slips. Many families keep the same tutor for both formats.
If the fit is wrong, we arrange a demo with the next tutor on your shortlist.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets a rate, which you see before booking the demo. The Hyderabad fees guide and our pricing guide explain the rest.
Share the course, the year, the skill that worries you most, your colony, the times that suit and your preferred format. We return two or three matched tutors with fees; the first class is a free demo, and switching later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified.

Yes, on request. Tell us the year, the subject group and the medium of instruction, and we look for tutors who teach from the prescribed Intermediate textbook and use the board's past papers for timed practice. The scheme and dates should be checked in the Board of Intermediate Education's notices.
For many students it is Statistics for Economics, which carries 40 of the 80 theory marks. The arithmetic is simple, but CBSE expects tabulated working and an interpretation of each result. Students who dropped maths often need a few weeks of steady practice before it becomes reliable marks.
HL students sit three papers, including the Paper 3 policy paper, weighted 20%, 30% and 30%, with the internal assessment at 20%. SL students sit two papers weighted 30% and 40%, with the internal assessment at 30%. Both write three commentaries on news extracts for the internal assessment.
Usually, yes. Many homes sit close to a Red Line station, so a tutor can ride in and walk or take a short auto. The highway and Miyapur X Roads are heavy in the evening peak, so start the lesson before the rush or leave a margin after it.
For most senior students it works very well: diagrams on a shared whiteboard, articles read together and essays marked between lessons. It also widens the choice for IB HL and A Level. Home lessons suit students who lose focus on screen and early statistics, where slips are caught faster.
Mostly it needs speed rather than new content. The NTA's 2026 bulletin lists Economics / Business Economics (code 309) with 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Intermediate and ISC students should first check where their syllabus differs from NCERT's, then practise timed questions.
