Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For a Hyderabad student who chooses BiPC in Intermediate, or biology in CBSE or ISC Class 11, the subject changes character almost overnight. There are more terms, longer processes, labelled diagrams on every page, and for those aiming at medicine, a NEET paper in which biology carries half the questions. A biology tutor is worth having when they turn that volume into understanding the student can still recall a year later, and when they know exactly how the student's own paper is marked. Below: each board in brief, where NEET fits, a revision system that works, and how tutors travel to each part of the city. The national biology home tutor guide has the full detail.
| Board or exam | In brief | Tutor focus |
|---|---|---|
| Telangana Intermediate (BiPC) | Two years under the state's Board of Intermediate Education, on state textbooks | State chapters, board past papers, and a bridge to the NEET syllabus |
| CBSE Classes 11 and 12 | Biology (044): theory 70 and practical 30 in each year | Human Physiology in Class 11; Genetics and Evolution in Class 12 |
| ISC Class 12 | Biology (863): theory 70, practical 15, project 10, practical file 5 | Complete, well-labelled written answers |
| NEET (UG) | Per the 2026 bulletin, biology was 90 of 180 questions, split into botany and zoology | Recall at speed, and accuracy under negative marking |
| Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE | 0610 with Core or Extended tiers and a practical component; 4BI1 untiered with two papers | Data handling and the practical-style questions |
| IB Diploma | SL 150 or HL 240 hours; exams 80%, individual investigation 20% | Connecting ideas across themes |
Up to Class 10, biology is usually part of science, whether on the SSC or CBSE. Our science home tutors in Hyderabad page covers those years.
The Intermediate course is where many Hyderabad students first study biology as a subject in its own right, within the BiPC group. We keep the description general, because the scheme is set by the state board and should be checked on its official website each year.
The practical difficulty is running two tracks at once. The Intermediate papers follow the state textbooks and the board's way of framing questions, while NEET follows the syllabus notified by the National Medical Commission, which leans on NCERT content. A tutor for a BiPC student should be clear about both: which chapters match, which topics need extra NCERT reading, and how to write full descriptive answers for the board while practising quick objective recall for NEET. Ask at the demo how they have handled this with earlier BiPC students.
The National Testing Agency's NEET (UG) 2026 bulletin laid out 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions to be done in 180 minutes: physics 45, chemistry 45 and biology 90, for 720 marks, with four marks for a correct answer and one deducted for a wrong one. Tie-breaking began with biology marks. The 2027 bulletin was not out at the time of writing, so confirm details on neet.nta.nic.in.
For a student already in coaching, a tutor adds most by working on the individual: going through each mock to see which chapters and question types cost marks, turning NCERT diagrams and tables into recall drills, and cutting guesses that negative marking punishes. For a student preparing without coaching, the tutor also sets the pace through the syllabus. Our NEET home tutor page and the NCERT-first NEET biology guide explain both routes.
In CBSE Class 12, Genetics and Evolution carries 20 of the 70 theory marks, and inheritance problems and molecular genetics need reasoning rather than memory. The paper puts roughly half its marks on knowledge and understanding, 30% on application and 20% on analysis and evaluation, with case-based and assertion-reason items alongside long answers. Practical marks come from experiments, spotting, the record and an investigatory project, so keeping those current through the year protects easy marks.
ISC's Class 12 paper spreads its theory marks more evenly: Reproduction 16, Genetics and Evolution 15, Ecology and Environment 15, Biology and Human Welfare 14 and Biotechnology 10. The syllabus expects structures taught with diagrams, and answers are marked on detail.
International-school students need a tutor who knows their exact course. For Cambridge 0610, the alternative to practical paper surprises many: students describe methods, read scales and plot graphs without touching apparatus. Edexcel 4BI1 folds practical skills into its two written papers instead. See our Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE comparison. IB Biology is organised around unity and diversity, form and function, interaction and interdependence, and continuity and change; the tutor's job is to join those themes up and to challenge, never write, the student's investigation. Our parents' guide to IB and IGCSE tutoring sets out what kind of help is appropriate, and online lessons widen the choice of specialists for both courses.
Biology is lost to forgetting more than to confusion. Ask a prospective tutor how they will stop that. A sound answer sounds something like this:
A senior biology specialist may live some distance from you, so the city's rail links matter. One example neighbourhood is linked for six zones.
| Zone | How the tutor travels | Share in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Gachibowli, Kondapur and Madhapur | Blue Line to Madhapur, HITEC City or Raidurg | Tower and flat for the visitor app |
| Kukatpally, Miyapur and Nizampet | Red Line stations from Miyapur to Balanagar | Colony name and a map pin |
| Manikonda, Narsingi and Kokapet (e.g. Khajaguda) | By road via the ORR or Khajaguda Main Road | Tower details a day ahead |
| Chandanagar, Lingampally and Tellapur (e.g. Hafeezpet) | MMTS to Hafizpet or Chandanagar; Miyapur on the Red Line | Colony and house number |
| Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Somajiguda | Blue Line stops up the hill; Punjagutta on the Red Line | Road number with house number |
| Ameerpet, Begumpet and Punjagutta (e.g. Begumpet) | Any Red or Blue Line station, via the Ameerpet interchange; Begumpet MMTS | Floor and landmark in shared buildings |
| Khairatabad, Himayatnagar and Abids (e.g. Khairatabad) | Khairatabad's metro or MMTS station; Green Line stops | The tutor's days, for the watchman |
| Secunderabad, Marredpally and Tarnaka | Tarnaka and Mettuguda on the Blue Line; MMTS to Malkajgiri | Colony name, since lanes look alike |
| Sainikpuri, Alwal and Trimulgherry (e.g. Alwal) | Mostly two-wheeler; Alwal station on the Bolarum MMTS route | Which colony gate to use |
| Uppal, Habsiguda and Nacharam (e.g. Ramanthapur) | Blue Line to Uppal or Habsiguda, then an auto | A landmark, as there is no station inside |
| Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram | Red Line to Chaitanyapuri, Dilsukhnagar or LB Nagar | The nearest station by name |
| Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and Attapur | Bus or two-wheeler; no metro here | An exact pin for spread-out colonies |
The full list is on our Hyderabad home tuition page. Where no suitable home tutor can travel at your hour, online biology lessons are a strong alternative: diagrams work on a tablet and mock reviews suit a shared screen.
If it does not feel right, we arrange a demo with the next tutor on your list; switching later is also free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. BiPC, CBSE and ISC senior biology and NEET preparation usually fall in that upper range. Tutors set their own fees and you see them before the demo. Our Hyderabad fees guide explains what moves the figure.
Tell us the class and board or exam, the chapters worrying your child, your locality and the slots that suit. We shortlist two or three biology tutors with fees, the first class is a free demo, and switching later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified. Students taking chemistry or physics too can see chemistry tutors in Hyderabad and physics tutors in Hyderabad. Biology teachers can find requests on Hyderabad tuition jobs.
Yes. Tell us the year, the medium and whether NEET is part of the plan. We look for tutors who teach from the state textbooks and use the board's past papers, and who can show which topics need extra NCERT reading for NEET. Check exam details on the board's official website.
According to the NTA's NEET (UG) 2026 bulletin, the paper had 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions in 180 minutes: 45 physics, 45 chemistry and 90 biology, for 720 marks. A correct answer earned four marks and a wrong one lost one. The 2027 pattern will be confirmed in the next bulletin.
Often, yes, if they know both well. The board wants full descriptive answers from the state textbooks; NEET wants fast, exact recall of NCERT-level content. A good tutor maps the overlap, fills the gaps and alternates written practice with objective drills, rather than treating them as two separate courses.
Genetics and Evolution, for most students. It carries 20 of the 70 theory marks under the 2026-27 curriculum, and its inheritance crosses, pedigrees and molecular genetics demand reasoning rather than memory. Weekly problem practice from the start of Class 12 usually works better than a late push before the board exam.
Yes, but plan around the road, since the zone has no metro and Raidurg is the nearest station. Most tutors come by two-wheeler or car via the Outer Ring Road. Send tower details a day ahead, and consider one online session a week for revision or specialist topics.
Generally well. Diagrams can be drawn on a tablet, past papers and data questions suit a shared screen, and online widens the choice of tutors who know Cambridge 0610, Edexcel 4BI1 or IB Biology. For the IB investigation, a tutor may question the method but the student does the work.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour, with Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and NEET toward the upper end. BiPC, senior board and NEET biology usually sit in that upper part. Each tutor sets a fee, and you see it before the free demo.
