Women tutors welcome
For women tutors: you set the terms
Women tutors in Gangtok are welcome to join NXTutors for home visits, online lessons or a mix of both. You choose where you travel: a tutor in Tadong might keep to the highway belt between Deorali and Ranipool, one in Sichey to the bypass road, and students further away can learn with you online. Many homes here are flats or houses reached by steps from the road, so ask for clear directions before a first visit. Everyone who joins faces an identical ID check, a parent is asked to be home for the demo, and the safeguarding policy applies to families and tutors equally.
- Pick home visits, online teaching or hybrid when you build your profile, and switch modes later if your plans change.
- Name only the localities you are happy to visit, such as the central wards, and leave out trips across Deorali junction late in the day.
- Every new family starts with a free demo; we ask a parent to be at home for the demo.
- Before a first visit to a Syari housing colony or a large building, ask the family to leave your name at the entrance.
- Settle fees, lesson times and messages with the parent rather than the child alone.
- With younger children, teach where another adult in the house can see you, and on screen keep your camera switched on.
- On days of heavy monsoon rain, agree with the family to move the lesson online.
- If something feels wrong, end the lesson and tell NXTutors, marking your message Safeguarding; in an emergency, ring 112 before anything else.
Read the safeguarding policy and how the ID check works.
