Home requests reach the closest suitable tutors first, so the town you give is what puts you in front of a nearby family. Online requests ignore distance and are matched by class, board and subject, which lets a tutor in Udupi or Tumakuru teach a student in another state.
A Karnataka student may sit the SSLC and II PUC examinations run by KSEAB, or study under CBSE, ICSE or another board. List all the boards you know, with the medium, whether Kannada or English. KSEAB's circulars on its own site are where the current SSLC and PUC details live. SSLC (Class 10), II PUC (pre-university, second year)
KSEAB runs the SSLC examination after Class 10 and the II PUC examination at the end of pre-university. Its 2026 notices refer to SSLC Examination 1 and 2, and repeaters and private candidates register on the same site. Paper patterns and dates sit in the board's own circulars, which a tutor should read at source rather than second-hand.

Our Bengaluru page notes that a Karnataka SSLC student and an IB Diploma Chemistry student need very different teachers. In the Diploma, internal assessment counts with the final exams, and maths comes as Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation at Standard or Higher Level. IGCSE, usually around Classes 9–10
