Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Sector 48 sits right beside Sohna Road and the Sector 47–48 junction, so the thing to plan is not distance but timing: which hour the tutor crosses that junction. This guide covers the sector's housing, the roads in and out, the metro being built through it, society entry rules and what each class band needs.

Sector 48 is a mixed sector rather than a single township. A property listing of the sector names more than thirty projects, almost all of them marked ready to move, which tells you this is a settled, built-up area rather than a construction zone. For a tutor, the more useful point is that the homes come in three quite different shapes.
One large group of homes is the Central Park cluster near Sohna Road: Central Park II with its Belgravia, The Room and Bellevue projects, plus Central Park Resorts and Bellavista Towers. Vipul Greens, Bestech Park View City 1, Eldeco Mansionz, Parsvnath Green Ville, SS Aaron Ville and Ashiana Silver Crest are listed in the sector too. In these, a tutor deals with a guarded gate, a tower lobby and a lift, and the lesson happens in a flat.
Vipul World is listed as both plots and builder floors in Sector 48, and Vipul Tatvam Villas is described as duplex villas with private pools. Here the tutor usually parks on the street or in a small driveway and rings a doorbell, and the study corner may be on a different floor from the living room.
The sector is not purely residential. Candor Techspace is listed in Sector 48 on Sohna Road, Orchid Business Park sits close to Central Park II, and Omaxe Celebration Mall is a short distance from the Central Park towers. A portal also names Raheja Mall, Omaxe Gurgaon Mall and JMD Galleria along NH-248A. That commercial edge brings office traffic at the same hours as school traffic, which is why the timing advice later in this guide matters.
If your home is in a society that has its own NXTutors page, use that page as well: Central Park 2 (The Room/Belgravia), Vipul Greens and Bestech Park View City 1 each have one.
Public discussion about this part of Gurugram keeps coming back to two things, and both shape how a tuition week works.
Monsoon days around the Sector 47–48 junction. News reports from July 2025 named the Sector 47–48 junction, Sohna Road and Sector 48 among the stretches that went under water after heavy rain, with traffic held up for hours. For tuition this is a planning point, not a reason to avoid home classes: agree in advance that on a heavy-rain evening the class moves online at the same time, so the week's rhythm is not lost.
Office and school hours on Sohna Road. Sohna Road carries both office traffic to the business parks and school runs, and the elevated corridor above it helps through-traffic more than it helps someone going from one sector to the next. Parents in Sector 48 usually pick a lesson time that keeps the tutor off the Sector 47–48 junction at its busiest, or a tutor who starts from the same side of the road.
Getting around without a car. A property portal notes that buses, autos and cabs are plentiful along NH-248A, while the metro is still being built. If a tutor relies on autos or cabs, a gate close to the main road matters more than it would for someone who drives.
None of this is about the tutor's quality. It is about choosing a time and a mode that will still work in the twelfth week, not just the first.
By road. Sohna Road (NH-248A) runs along the sector's eastern side, and the Sector 47–48 junction is the junction most tutors pass. Above it runs the Sohna Elevated Corridor, a six-lane elevated road from NH-48 to Sohna that opened fully in July 2022. A tutor coming from the NH-48 junction or from Sohna town can use it, but anyone coming from an adjoining sector will still be at ground level, at the chowk. Netaji Subhash Marg to the north and Golf Course Extension Road to the south are the other edges a portal gives for the sector, so tutors from the Golf Course Extension side have a second way in that avoids the chowk.
By metro, today. There is no metro station in Sector 48 yet. The nearest rail link is Millennium City Centre Gurugram, the Yellow Line terminus in Sector 29, which one portal puts within about a fifteen-minute drive. A tutor coming from Delhi or from MG Road usually takes the Yellow Line there and finishes by cab or auto.
By metro, later. The new Gurugram Metro corridor from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9 lists stations at Sector 45, Cyber Park, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk and Sector 48 before it turns west. It is under construction, so do not plan this year's tuition around it; just know that tutors without a car will find the sector easier once it opens.
Practical upshot. When you request a tutor, say which part of the sector you are in, the Central Park side close to Sohna Road or the Vipul World side further in, and whether the tutor must cross the Sector 47–48 junction to reach you. That one detail helps us match tutors from nearby sectors who can arrive on time.
Entry works differently across the sector's three kinds of home, so tell the tutor which one yours is.
On safety, tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, and the profile badge appears only once our team has reviewed the ID. Read how the ID check works. It is not a police or background check, so keep the usual habits: an adult at home for the first classes, a study table in a shared room rather than a closed bedroom, and the tutor's number saved in the society app.
Requests from the Sohna Road sectors are mostly CBSE and ICSE, with IB and Cambridge IGCSE asked for too. Among the schools on our approved Gurugram list, DAV Public School in neighbouring Sector 49 follows CBSE.
What changes for a tutor in Sector 48 is less the board than the home. In a flat in one of the towers, the tutor has the same desk every week and can leave a practice file behind; in a plotted floor with family coming and going, it helps to fix a room. For CBSE Class 10, the board's scheme now has two board examinations from 2026, the second for improvement, which can stretch revision later into the year.
For a full side-by-side of syllabuses and exams, read our board comparison, then see the CBSE tutors in Gurgaon page if that is your board.
Short, regular sessions work at this age, ideally three or four a week at a fixed time. Because the evening junction traffic peaks just when younger children are freshest, a slot soon after school often works. Reading aloud, number sense and handwriting need a tutor who comes to the home; online rarely holds a six-year-old's attention.
This is where Maths and Science start to separate children who keep up from those who drift. A tutor's job is to keep the homework from piling up and to fill gaps in fractions, algebra and basic science vocabulary before Class 9. Two or three sessions a week is common; one can move online on rain days.
Board preparation starts here in practice. Families usually want separate attention for Maths and for Science, and sometimes English writing. A Class 10 student benefits from timed practice papers in the final term; ask whether the tutor will set and mark them. For maths in particular, see the Gurgaon maths home tuition page.
Students often split subjects across tutors: one for Physics and Maths, another for Chemistry or Accounts. Senior students are also more willing to take some classes online, which helps when the right specialist lives on the far side of Sohna Road. If coaching for an entrance exam is already running, the home tutor's role is usually to clear doubts and keep school marks steady rather than repeat the coaching syllabus.
These students need tutors who know internal assessments and coursework deadlines, which narrows the pool. It is normal to combine a home tutor for one subject with an online tutor for another.
Board exam months bring two pressures at once: more sessions per week and less flexibility in the tutor's diary. Book extra sessions a few weeks ahead rather than in the final fortnight. CBSE and CISCE publish their date sheets on their own websites, and IB and Cambridge sessions follow their published calendars, so plan from those, not from rumours on parent groups. If a heavy-rain spell lands during preparation, switch that week's sessions online instead of skipping them.
A home tutor suits younger children, students who need someone to sit beside them while they work, and families who want to see the lesson happening. An online tutor suits senior students, rare subjects and days when the Sector 47–48 junction is jammed or flooded. A coaching centre suits a student who wants a competitive batch for an entrance exam and can travel there and back without losing study time.
Many Sector 48 families mix them: coaching for entrance preparation, a home tutor for school subjects, and online sessions to cover gaps. Our online tutors in Gurgaon page shows how the online side works.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Within that range, the fee moves with the class and board, the number of subjects, how many sessions a week you want, and how specialised the subject is. Travel also counts: a tutor who has to cross the Sector 47–48 junction at a busy hour may price that time in, while a tutor already teaching in the same society may not. Online sessions often cost less than home visits for the same tutor.
On NXTutors you see each matched tutor's fee before the demo, the demo itself is free, and you pay the tutor's stated fee only once you decide to continue.
We could not find a public library or reading room in Sector 48 with a reliable source, so we do not list one. Most students here study at home. Vipul Water Tank Park is listed close to the Central Park II towers, which some families use for a walk between study blocks, and most tower societies have a clubhouse room worth asking your RWA about for group revision.
