What home tuition costs in Gurgaon

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

NEET chemistry tutor in Gurgaon: the 20 NMC units, NCERT recall and timed practice

Chemistry is a quarter of the NEET paper, and it is the section where steady, disciplined work shows up fastest in mock scores. Inorganic questions lean heavily on the NCERT text, organic questions test a small set of reaction patterns again and again, and physical chemistry numericals are mostly arithmetic done carefully under time pressure. A good NEET chemistry tutor in Gurugram does three jobs: keeps the student reading NCERT closely, turns organic chemistry from a list into a map, and makes numericals fast without making them careless. This page sets out the official syllabus, where students usually lose marks, two worked examples, a year plan, a way to review mocks, and how to choose and test a tutor.

Where chemistry sits in the NEET paper

The NTA's information bulletin for 2026 described NEET (UG) as a three-hour, single-shift exam on paper. All 180 multiple-choice questions were compulsory. Chemistry contributed 45 questions and 180 marks out of 720, level with physics, while biology carried 90 questions. A correct response earned 4, an incorrect one lost 1, and a skipped question scored 0, and the National Medical Commission sets the syllabus. All of this describes the 2026 cycle; check the 2027 bulletin when the NTA publishes it.

Two things follow for chemistry. Every question carries the same four marks, so a quick NCERT-recall item on p-block trends is worth exactly as much as a long equilibrium numerical, and a student should not let one slow question eat the time of three quick ones. And because a wrong answer costs a mark, accuracy matters as much as speed. Our NEET home tutor in Gurgaon page covers how the three subjects share a student's week; this page is only about chemistry.

The 20 chemistry units in the NMC syllabus

The NMC's 2026 syllabus groups chemistry into three blocks. Knowing the list matters because the units are not equal in how they are learned: some are numerical, some are recall, and some are reasoning about electrons.

NEET (UG) 2026 chemistry units (NMC syllabus) and how each is learned
BlockUnitsMainly a test of
Physical chemistry1 Some Basic Concepts in Chemistry; 2 Atomic Structure; 3 Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure; 4 Chemical Thermodynamics; 5 Solutions; 6 Equilibrium; 7 Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry; 8 Chemical KineticsNumericals with units, graphs and formula selection; bonding also needs shapes and hybridisation
Inorganic chemistry9 Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties; 10 p-Block Elements; 11 d- and f-Block Elements; 12 Co-ordination CompoundsTrends, exceptions and NCERT statements; nomenclature and isomerism of complexes
Organic chemistry13 Purification and Characterisation of Organic Compounds; 14 Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry; 15 Hydrocarbons; 16 Organic Compounds Containing Halogens; 17 Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen; 18 Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen; 19 Biomolecules; 20 Principles Related to Practical ChemistryReaction patterns, named reactions, reagents and conditions, and lab chemistry

The detail inside the units is specific. Unit 17, for example, names the Reimer-Tiemann reaction, aldol condensation, the Cannizzaro and haloform reactions, and the Clemmensen and Wolff-Kishner reductions. Unit 11 names potassium dichromate and potassium permanganate. Unit 20 lists the cations and anions for salt analysis, two permanganate titrations, and the preparation of Mohr's salt, potash alum, acetanilide, p-nitroacetanilide, aniline yellow and iodoform. A tutor should work from this list, not from memory of older syllabuses. For a chapter-level priority list, see our guide to important NEET chemistry chapters.

What changes from Class 10, and what Class 12 builds on

Class 10 chemistry is mostly descriptive: reactions are written and balanced, acids and bases are tested with indicators, carbon compounds are named. NEET chemistry starts in Class 11 with a much sharper turn. The mole concept becomes the language of every calculation, atomic structure brings quantum numbers and orbital shapes, and organic chemistry suddenly asks why a reaction happens, using inductive effect, resonance and hyperconjugation.

Class 12 rests on that Class 11 base far more than students expect. Electrochemistry and solutions assume fluent mole arithmetic; coordination compounds assume comfort with electronic configuration; and every Class 12 organic unit, from haloalkanes to amines, assumes that carbocation stability and electron movement already make sense. A student who scraped through Class 11 organic chemistry usually feels Class 12 organic as a wall of reactions to memorise. The fix is to go back to Unit 14 first, not to push on. Our chemistry home tutor in Gurgaon page covers the school board side of Classes 11 and 12; the national NEET chemistry tutor page covers the exam without the Gurugram detail.

NCERT inorganic recall: a method, not a hope

Inorganic chemistry in NEET rewards students who have read the NCERT chapters closely enough to spot a changed word in an option. It punishes students who learned trends from summary sheets and never saw the exceptions in context. Re-reading alone does not fix this; testing does. A tutor-run recall routine looks like this:

  1. Read a short NCERT section the day before. One subsection, such as the anomalous behaviour of boron, or the oxidation states of the first-row transition elements.
  2. Closed-book questions at the start of the session. The tutor asks eight to ten short questions drawn from that text: "Why is the first ionisation enthalpy of nitrogen higher than that of oxygen?" "Name the oxidation state shown by every lanthanoid."
  3. Statement-type practice. Two or three statements, some subtly altered, and the student must say which are correct and why.
  4. An error notebook. Every miss is written down with the correct NCERT line, and the notebook is retested a week later and again a month later.

This takes little time in each session, and it suits online work, because no diagrams need correcting over the student's shoulder. It is the single habit we see most often missing in students whose inorganic scores swing from mock to mock.

Two worked examples of the kind a tutor sets

Stoichiometry: the limiting reagent

Question. 3.0 g of hydrogen is ignited with 32 g of oxygen. What mass of water forms, and what is left over? (H = 1, O = 16)

Working. The balanced equation is 2H2 + O2 → 2H2O. Hydrogen: 3.0 ÷ 2 = 1.5 mol. Oxygen: 32 ÷ 32 = 1.0 mol. 1.5 mol of hydrogen needs only 0.75 mol of oxygen, so hydrogen runs out first and is the limiting reagent. Water formed = 1.5 mol × 18 g/mol = 27 g. Oxygen left = 1.0 − 0.75 = 0.25 mol = 8 g. Check: 3 + 32 = 35 g in, 27 + 8 = 35 g out.

The trap. Students who divide 32 g by 16 (treating oxygen as atoms, not O2) get 2 mol and the wrong limiting reagent. An option built on that slip will be on the paper.

A named reaction: Cannizzaro or aldol?

Question. Which of methanal, ethanal, benzaldehyde and propanal give the Cannizzaro reaction with concentrated NaOH?

Reasoning. The Cannizzaro reaction needs an aldehyde with no α-hydrogen; one molecule is oxidised to the carboxylate and another reduced to the alcohol. Methanal (HCHO) and benzaldehyde (C6H5CHO) have no α-hydrogen, so both react. Ethanal and propanal have α-hydrogens, so with dilute alkali they undergo aldol condensation instead. Benzaldehyde gives benzyl alcohol and sodium benzoate.

The follow-up. In a crossed reaction of methanal with benzaldehyde, methanal is the one oxidised (to sodium formate), and benzaldehyde is reduced to benzyl alcohol. One rule, the α-hydrogen test, sorts both reactions; that is what "a map, not a list" means.

A third quick check a tutor often adds: a first-order reaction has a half-life of 2 hours; how long until 1/8 of the reactant is left? Three half-lives (1 → 1/2 → 1/4 → 1/8), so 6 hours, with no logarithms needed. Spotting the shortcut saves time for the harder questions.

Where NEET chemistry marks usually go

Typical difficulty points and what a tutor does about them
DifficultyWhat it looks likeThe repair
Mole arithmeticAtoms and molecules confused; molar masses guessed; molarity and molality swappedA short daily set of mixed mole questions until each one is automatic
Equilibrium and pHKp and Kc mixed up; buffer and salt-hydrolysis questions guessedClassify the solution first (strong, weak, buffer, salt), then choose the formula
Electrochemistry signsWrong sign of E°cell or ΔG; anode and cathode reversedWrite both half-reactions every time; check that a spontaneous cell has positive E° and negative ΔG
Inorganic exceptionsTrend learned, exception forgottenThe recall routine above, with exceptions logged in the error notebook
Organic reagentsRight product, wrong conditions; Markownikoff and anti-Markownikoff addition mixedEach reaction learned as reagent, condition and reason; peroxide effect drilled separately
Practical chemistrySalt-analysis tests and titration indicators left until the endUnit 20 spread across the year, not crammed in the last month

How a home tutor plans the NEET chemistry year

Most Gurugram students preparing for NEET are also in school, and many are in coaching. So a sensible chemistry plan slots in around school terms and the coaching order instead of fighting them. A typical two-year shape:

A NEET chemistry plan across Classes 11 and 12
PeriodChemistry focusAssessment
Class 11, first term (April to September)Units 1, 2 and 3; start Unit 9 recall; Unit 14 basics before hydrocarbonsChapter MCQ tests; school unit tests and half-yearly
Class 11, second term (October to February)Thermodynamics, equilibrium, redox; hydrocarbons; Unit 13Mixed tests across finished units; school finals
Summer before Class 12Repair the weakest Class 11 unit; begin solutions and electrochemistryA first full chemistry section under exam timing
Class 12, first termKinetics, d- and f-block, co-ordination compounds; Units 16 and 17Weekly timed sets; school half-yearly
Class 12, second termUnit 18, biomolecules, Unit 20; full revision of inorganic from NCERTFull mocks; school pre-boards and boards
Board exams to NEETMock, review, repair cycleTwo or more full mocks a week, each reviewed

For a repeat year, the order changes: one diagnostic mock in the first week, then the weakest block first. A student who scores well in organic but loses half the inorganic questions gains more from a month of NCERT recall than from another round of named reactions. Board exams matter too, and a tutor should protect them; our Class 12 home tutor page covers the board side.

A mock review method that actually changes scores

Mocks only help if they are reviewed. Many students check the score, glance at the answer key and move on. A tutor should go through the chemistry section with the student and sort every lost question into one of five causes:

  • Did not know. A gap in content; it goes into next week's plan as a topic.
  • Knew but misread. "Incorrect" read as "correct", or "not" missed; fixed by underlining the question's key word.
  • Calculation slip. The method was right; fixed by checking units and orders of magnitude.
  • Two options left, wrong one picked. Usually an NCERT detail; it goes in the error notebook.
  • Ran out of time. Fixed by section order and the rule of moving on from a stuck question.

Counting the causes over three or four mocks shows where the next marks are. Blanks deserve a look too. Under +4/−1 marking, a pure guess among four options is not a disaster on average, but a guess after eliminating two options is clearly worth taking; a tutor helps the student find the line between a reasoned answer and a gamble. Our blog on NEET preparation in Gurgaon: coaching or a home tutor discusses where mocks fit when a student also attends coaching.

Timing NEET chemistry tuition in Gurugram

Chemistry splits naturally between home and online sessions. Curly arrows and long numerical working get fixed fastest when the tutor sits at the same table; inorganic recall and mock review work well online. Many families take one home session in the week and one or two shorter online ones, which also keeps the tutor off the roads at the busiest hours.

School terms set the rhythm: lighter weeks in summer and after the school finals are the time to repair Class 11 gaps, while half-yearly and pre-board weeks need sessions that follow the school paper. On weekday evenings, travel across Gurugram's main roads can be slow, so choose a home tutor based near your part of town, or book a slot ahead of coaching, to keep sessions on time. Families along the Sohna Road zone and the Golf Course Extension Road zone often find a chemistry tutor within their own stretch; in areas such as Sector 57, South City 1 or Sector 82, mixing home and online sessions lets you pick a stronger specialist who lives further off. You can browse all sectors from our page of home tutors in Gurgaon.

Choosing a NEET chemistry tutor, and using the demo well

Use the free demo as a test of the tutor, not only of the student. Some useful checks:

  • Ask for a diagnosis first. A good tutor asks a few quick questions from each block before teaching anything, and tells you which block is weakest.
  • Bring a real coaching question. Watch whether the tutor explains why the wrong options are wrong, not only why the right one is right.
  • Ask about NCERT. The tutor should talk about the NCERT text naturally, and know which units the current NMC syllabus includes.
  • Ask how mocks will be reviewed. Look for a method like the one above, with an error log.
  • Ask for a written plan. Units for the next month, test dates, and how it fits school and coaching.

Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID. The details are on our page explaining how we check tutor IDs. For the other two NEET subjects, see the NEET biology tutor and NEET physics tutor pages; students aiming for engineering instead should look at the JEE chemistry tutor page, where physical and organic chemistry go deeper.

NEET Chemistry Home Tutor in Gurgaon (Gurugram): common questions

What do NEET chemistry tutors charge in Gurgaon?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. NEET chemistry tutors in Gurugram set their own fees, shown to you before the free demo, and replacing a tutor later is free of charge.

How do I find a NEET chemistry tutor in Gurgaon?

To find a NEET chemistry tutor in Gurgaon, tell us the class, board, coaching plans, the chemistry block that worries you, where you live and when the student is free. We shortlist two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

How much of the NEET paper is chemistry for Gurgaon aspirants?

For Gurgaon aspirants, chemistry was a quarter of NEET (UG) 2026: 45 questions and 180 of the 720 marks, level with physics. Each correct response gained 4 marks and each incorrect one lost 1. That describes the 2026 cycle; look at the 2027 bulletin once the NTA releases it.

What does the NMC's NEET chemistry syllabus include for Gurgaon aspirants?

Gurgaon NEET students follow the NMC's 2026 chemistry syllabus of twenty units: eight physical, four inorganic and eight organic. Inorganic covers periodicity, the p-block, the d- and f-block and co-ordination compounds. The last organic unit covers practical chemistry: salt analysis, permanganate titrations and named preparations.

Is NCERT enough for NEET inorganic chemistry in Gurgaon?

NCERT is the core of NEET inorganic chemistry for Gurgaon students, and many questions turn on its exact statements and exceptions. The difficulty is remembering what NCERT says, not finding more books. A tutor runs short closed-book recall, statement-type practice and an error notebook retested a week and a month later.

My Gurgaon child attends NEET coaching; what does a home chemistry tutor add?

A home chemistry tutor adds one-to-one repair for a Gurgaon NEET student in coaching, using the coaching material rather than a parallel course. The tutor finds the questions your child keeps getting wrong, repairs the Class 11 basics behind them, runs NCERT recall checks and reviews mocks question by question around coaching days.

When should a Gurgaon NEET student start chemistry tuition?

A Gurgaon NEET student gains most from starting chemistry tuition early in Class 11, when the mole, atomic structure and organic reasoning are first taught. Everything in Class 12 leans on them. Students starting in Class 12 or a repeat year should begin with a diagnostic mock and repair the weakest block first.

Where do Gurgaon NEET students usually lose chemistry marks?

Gurgaon NEET students usually lose chemistry marks on mole arithmetic, equilibrium and pH, electrochemistry signs, inorganic exceptions and organic reagent conditions. Leaving practical chemistry to the last month and finishing chemistry in a rush cost marks too. Spreading Unit 20 across the year and fixing a time budget per subject help.

Do NEET organic and inorganic chemistry need different formats, home or online, in Gurugram?

For NEET chemistry in Gurugram, organic mechanisms and numerical working are easier to correct at home, while inorganic recall and mock reviews suit online sessions that avoid evening traffic. Many families take one home session and one or two online sessions a week with the same tutor.

How should we test a NEET chemistry tutor in the Gurgaon free demo?

To test a NEET chemistry tutor in a Gurgaon free demo, bring a coaching question your child got wrong. See whether the tutor explains why each wrong option is wrong, and ask how they use NCERT, review mocks and plan the next month. A good tutor diagnoses physical, inorganic and organic before teaching.
