What home tuition costs in Gurgaon

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

NEET biology tutor in Gurgaon: NCERT recall, diagrams and honest mock analysis

Biology is half of NEET. In the 2026 paper it carried 90 of the 180 questions and 360 of the 720 marks. A student who is shaky here cannot make it up elsewhere. Yet biology is also the subject families most often leave to chance, because it "only needs reading". It needs reading that is checked. A NEET biology tutor in Gurugram is useful mainly for three jobs: testing NCERT recall often and briefly, drilling the diagrams and processes that questions are built on, and reading every mock to find out why marks went missing. This guide explains the syllabus, how Class 11 and Class 12 biology divide it, the question styles that trip students up, worked examples, and how to set up tutoring around school, coaching and Gurgaon's roads.

Where biology sits in the NEET (UG) paper

These figures are for the 2026 cycle; check the 2027 bulletin when NTA publishes it. NEET (UG) 2026 was a single-shift, 3-hour, pen-and-paper examination with 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions, each with four options and one correct answer.

NEET (UG) 2026 paper by subject (NTA Information Bulletin)
SubjectQuestionsMarks
Biology (Botany and Zoology)90360
Physics45180
Chemistry45180
Total180720

Marking was +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one and 0 for a question left blank. That last rule matters more in biology than students think. A half-remembered NCERT line tempts a guess; four guesses with one right answer net zero. So the aim is not only more correct answers but fewer confident wrong ones, and a tutor who tracks both is doing the real job.

The NMC biology syllabus: ten units

The National Medical Commission (NMC) notifies the syllabus, and both NTA and NMC publish it online. For 2026 it has ten biology units:

NEET (UG) 2026 biology units and what tends to go wrong
NMC unitTypical weak spot
Diversity in Living WorldExamples and distinguishing features of groups mixed up across kingdoms and phyla
Structural Organisation in Animals and PlantsPlant families, floral formulae and tissue names learnt without the figures
Cell Structure and FunctionStages of meiosis in the wrong order; enzyme classes confused
Plant PhysiologyLight and dark reactions, C3 versus C4, and ATP counts in respiration
Human PhysiologyHormone sources and actions; nephron segments; the cardiac cycle and ECG
ReproductionEmbryo-sac development, gametogenesis stages, and the menstrual-cycle hormones
Genetics and EvolutionCross ratios, sex-linked inheritance, and the lac operon read too quickly
Biology and Human WelfarePathogen-disease pairs and microbe uses learnt as loose lists
Biotechnology and Its ApplicationsSteps of recombinant DNA work out of order; enzyme roles swapped
Ecology and EnvironmentPopulation interactions and ecological pyramids read but never tested

Plant Physiology alone spans photosynthesis, respiration and plant growth; Human Physiology spans six systems, from breathing to chemical coordination; Genetics and Evolution covers heredity, the molecular basis of inheritance and evolution. Those three units deserve a tutor's closest attention because they mix memory with reasoning.

How Class 11 and Class 12 biology divide the syllabus

CBSE's Biology (044) curriculum for 2026-27 shows the split clearly, and since NEET questions follow the NCERT books, it is the map most tutors use whatever the student's board. Each class has a 70-mark, 3-hour theory paper in school.

CBSE Biology 044, 2026-27: theory units and marks
Class 11 unitMarksClass 12 unitMarks
Diversity of Living Organisms15Reproduction16
Structural Organisation in Plants and Animals10Genetics and Evolution20
Cell: Structure and Function15Biology and Human Welfare12
Plant Physiology12Biotechnology and its Applications12
Human Physiology18Ecology and Environment10

Two things follow. First, half of NEET biology comes from the Class 11 book, and Class 11 is the year students are adjusting to coaching, new subjects and a heavier timetable. Gaps formed then are the ones that show in the Class 12 mocks. Second, the Class 12 units are shorter and more conceptual, so a student who leaves Class 11 revision until the final months finds the larger half still waiting. Our Class 11 home tutor and Class 12 home tutor pages cover the school side of each year.

What the step from Class 10 asks for: Class 10 science treats life processes and heredity as one part of a combined paper. Class 11 turns them into separate chapters with their own vocabulary, so the first weeks are largely about precise terms. Students who come from ICSE biology usually have the diagram habit already; see our ICSE biology tutor page for the earlier years.

Where NEET biology marks quietly leak

  • Reading without testing. A chapter read three times feels known. A ten-question check on it often shows otherwise. Recall has to be tested, not assumed.
  • Skipping the figures and tables. NCERT diagrams, flow charts and tables carry facts that questions use directly: the parts of an embryo sac, the stages of the Calvin cycle, the hormone table.
  • Near-synonyms. Chromatin and chromatid, gametophyte and sporophyte, ureotelic and uricotelic. Statement questions are built on these swaps.
  • Long statement items read too fast. Questions that list four statements and ask how many are correct punish skimming more than ignorance.
  • Genetics treated as memory. Ratios, pedigrees and blood-group crosses need working on paper, every time.
  • Guessing under the −1 rule. Mocks show it clearly: many students lose more to wrong guesses than they gain from lucky ones.

Worked examples: how a tutor explains three question types

1. Assertion and reason

Assertion (A): Photorespiration is negligible in C4 plants.
Reason (R): In C4 plants, RuBisCO works in bundle-sheath cells where the concentration of carbon dioxide is kept high.

Take each statement alone first. A is true. R is true: the C4 pathway fixes CO2 in mesophyll cells, and the four-carbon acid releases it inside the bundle sheath. Then ask whether R explains A. It does, because RuBisCO binds oxygen when CO2 is scarce; keeping CO2 high stops that. Answer: both true, and R is the correct explanation of A.

2. The same format, a different trap

A: Haemophilia is seen more often in males than in females.
R: The gene for haemophilia is carried on the Y chromosome.

A is true. R is false: the gene is X-linked and recessive. A male has one X, so a single faulty copy shows; a female needs two. Students who recognise "sex-linked" and stop reading pick "both true". The habit to build is checking every word of R before judging the link.

3. A blood-group cross

Parents with blood groups A and B, both heterozygous (IAi × IBi). What fraction of their children can be expected to have group O?

Each parent passes i with probability ½, so ii is ½ × ½ = ¼. The full cross gives IAIB, IAi, IBi and ii in equal parts: groups AB, A, B and O, one quarter each. The answer is ¼, and the cross shows co-dominance (AB) and multiple alleles in one small grid.

A diagram drill works the same way. The tutor names a figure, for example the ECG trace, and the student draws and labels it from memory: the P wave for atrial depolarisation, the QRS complex for ventricular depolarisation, and the T wave for ventricular repolarisation. Whatever is missing goes onto the next check. Our NCERT-first NEET biology guide sets out why the textbook comes before question banks.

The recall routine: short, frequent and written down

Most of the value of a NEET biology tutor lies in a routine that is easy to describe and hard to keep alone:

  1. Read first, then get checked. The student reads an NCERT chapter, including every figure, table and box, before the session.
  2. Closed-book questions. The tutor asks short, specific questions taken from the lines of the book: "Which cells of the nephron reabsorb most of the glucose?", "Name two outbreeding devices."
  3. Blank diagrams. One or two figures redrawn and labelled from memory.
  4. An error list. Every miss goes into a running notebook, sorted by chapter.
  5. Spaced return. Old misses come back after a few days, then a few weeks, until they stop recurring.

Because these checks are short and need no lab or whiteboard, they work well online. Many families keep longer sessions at home for the subjects that need written working; the NEET physics tutor in Gurgaon and NEET chemistry tutor in Gurgaon pages describe those.

Board biology versus NEET biology

The content overlaps heavily; the demands differ. School papers ask for written answers, labelled diagrams and explanations in the student's own words. NEET asks the student to spot one changed word in a statement, under time pressure. A tutor should know which mode a given week calls for.

What each route needs from a NEET biology tutor
Student's boardWhat usually fitsWhat to add for NEET
CBSESchool follows the NCERT books, so content matches closelySpeed with statement items and the discipline not to guess
ISCDetailed theory and diagrams, often in more depth than neededReading the NCERT books alongside school texts, because NEET uses NCERT wording and figures
IB or other international coursesStrong on data and experimentEach NMC unit matched against the school course, plus dedicated time for NCERT detail such as plant families and named disorders

Students on international courses should check the qualifying-examination rules in the current NEET bulletin before planning. For school-side biology on every board, see our biology home tutor in Gurgaon page.

How a home tutor plans the two years

A NEET biology plan across Classes 11 and 12 (adjust to the school calendar)
PeriodBiology focus
Class 11, first termDiversity, plant structure and the cell: vocabulary, examples and figures, checked weekly
Class 11, second termPlant and human physiology; first chapter-wise timed sets; school practicals kept up
Class 11, after school examsRevise the whole Class 11 book once before Class 12 starts
Class 12, first termReproduction and genetics with worked crosses; Class 11 recall continues each week
Class 12, second termBiotechnology, welfare and ecology; full mocks begin; board practical and long answers kept alive
Board exams to NEETBoard writing first, then full mocks, error-list revision and repeated NCERT reading

A student starting late, or in a drop year, follows the same order but compresses it: the highest-yield physiology and genetics chapters first, then the remaining units on rotation with weekly mocks.

Reading a mock the way a tutor should

A mock score alone says little. The useful part is sorting each lost question into one of four causes:

  • Never learnt: the line or figure was skipped. Fix: reread that section, then add it to the recall checks.
  • Learnt but forgotten: known last month, missed today. Fix: shorter gaps between checks for that chapter.
  • Misread: "incorrect" read as "correct", or a statement skimmed. Fix: practise underlining the key word in timed sets.
  • Guessed wrong: the −1 penalty in action. Fix: settle in advance when a question stays blank, then test that rule in the next mock.

Over a few weeks the pattern becomes clear, and tuition time goes where the marks are. Families comparing routes may like our Gurgaon article NEET preparation: coaching or a home tutor; a biology tutor fits alongside coaching as well as instead of it.

Home, online or hybrid: fitting biology into a Gurugram week

Gurgaon's school term runs from spring through to the winter exams, and for NEET students the evenings are already full with school work, coaching or self-study. Evening traffic on the main roads, especially around the office hours, stretches even nearby journeys, so a tutor's travel time matters as much as the tutor.

  • Online recall checks on weekday evenings: no travel, and easy to fit after coaching.
  • A home session at the weekend for diagrams, genetics problems and mock review, when the roads are quieter.
  • A hybrid plan when the strongest biology tutor lives across the city: one home visit, the rest online.

Around Sector 54 on Golf Course Road and Sector 40 in Central Gurugram, home sessions are usually easy to arrange. Families near Sector 15 in Old Gurugram often find a tutor close by, while in Sector 90 and the newer sectors a hybrid plan widens the choice. Sector-by-sector listings sit on our page of home tutors in Gurgaon, or start from the NEET home tutor in Gurgaon hub for all three subjects.

How to choose and test a NEET biology tutor in the demo

The opening session costs nothing. Use it to watch the tutor test, not just teach:

  • Ask the student to read one NCERT section beforehand, and ask the tutor to check it closed-book. Good questions are specific and come from the lines of the book.
  • Bring a recent mock. Ask the tutor how they would sort the lost marks and what they would change in the next fortnight.
  • Ask for one diagram to be drawn and corrected live, online or at the table.
  • Ask how they handle the board side: practical records, long answers and school tests.

Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID. Read how the ID check works. If the fit is not right after the free demo class, we set up the next tutor, and switching later is free.

Fees and getting started

NEET Biology Home Tutor in Gurgaon (Gurugram): common questions

What is the fee for a NEET biology tutor in Gurgaon?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. NEET biology tutors in Gurugram set their own fee, and you see each one before the demo.

How do I find a NEET biology tutor in Gurgaon?

To find a NEET biology tutor in Gurgaon, tell us the class, board, the chapters or mock sections that worry you, coaching days, your sector and free times. We shortlist two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

How much of NEET is biology for Gurgaon aspirants?

For Gurgaon aspirants, biology (botany and zoology) was half of NEET (UG) 2026: 90 of the 180 questions and 360 of the 720 marks. Marking was +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one and 0 for a blank. These figures are for the 2026 cycle; check the 2027 bulletin when NTA publishes it.

Is reading NCERT enough for NEET biology, or does a Gurgaon student need a tutor?

NCERT is the base for NEET biology, but reading alone does not test recall, which is where a Gurgaon tutor helps. NEET questions follow NCERT wording, figures and tables. A tutor runs short closed-book checks, diagram drills and a running list of misses that come back until they stop recurring.

Which NEET biology units do Gurgaon students find hardest?

Gurgaon NEET students usually find Plant Physiology, Human Physiology and Genetics and Evolution hardest, because they mix memory with reasoning. Photosynthesis pathways, hormone actions, nephron function, inheritance crosses and the molecular basis of inheritance need the most work. Diversity in Living World is easy to underrate because of its many examples.

How should a Gurgaon NEET student handle assertion and reason biology questions?

A Gurgaon NEET student should judge each statement in an assertion and reason question alone first, then ask whether the reason explains the assertion. Students who spot a familiar phrase and stop reading pick both true too often. Checking every word of the reason before judging the link is the habit to build.

How does a Gurgaon NEET biology tutor use mock tests?

A Gurgaon NEET biology tutor sorts each lost mock question by cause: never learnt, learnt but forgotten, misread, or guessed wrong. Each needs a different fix: rereading, shorter gaps between checks, underlining key words in timed sets, or a firm rule on leaving questions blank because of the −1 penalty.

Can an ISC or IB student in Gurugram get NEET biology tutoring?

Yes, an ISC or IB student in Gurugram can get NEET biology tutoring matched to their board. ISC students usually know the content in depth but need NCERT reading alongside school texts. IB and international students should match each NMC unit against their course and check the qualifying-examination rules in the current NEET bulletin.

Is online or home NEET biology tuition better in Gurugram?

For NEET biology in Gurugram, short recall checks suit online sessions on weekday evenings, with no travel after school or coaching. A weekend home session suits diagrams, genetics problems and mock review when roads are quieter. When the strongest tutor lives across the city, a hybrid of one home visit and online sessions works well.

How can we judge a NEET biology tutor's recall checks in the Gurgaon free demo?

In a free demo with a NEET biology tutor in Gurgaon, have the student read one NCERT section beforehand and ask the tutor to test it closed-book. Bring a recent mock and ask how they would sort the lost marks. Ask for one diagram, such as the ECG trace, to be drawn and corrected live.
