Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

DLF Qutab Enclave is the original name of the colony that grew into DLF City. The name still appears on postal addresses, bank branches and a residents' welfare association, even though most people now say DLF Phase 1, 2, 3 or 4. This guide covers the older plotted phases where the Qutab Enclave name is still in use; for each phase in detail, see DLF Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Phase 4 (all linked below), and for the city as a whole, the Gurugram hub.
| Point | DLF Qutab Enclave |
|---|---|
| What the name means | The earlier name of DLF City, still used in addresses |
| Post office | DLF QE sub office, PIN 122002, with Chakkarpur and Nathupur branch offices |
| Land it was built on | Farmland of Sikanderpur, Chakkarpur and Nathupur villages, per a property history |
| Housing | Mostly freehold plots, bungalows and builder floors, with some group housing |
| Metro | Yellow Line at Sikanderpur and Guru Dronacharya; Rapid Metro loop through DLF Phase 2, Belvedere Towers, Cyber City, Moulsari Avenue and DLF Phase 3, and a DLF Phase 1 stop |
| Markets | Qutab Plaza (Phase 1), Galleria (Phase 4) |
| Tutors usually come from | Inside DLF City, Sushant Lok, MG Road and along the Yellow Line, plus online |
DLF's company profile describes Qutab Enclave as its landmark early project, which has since evolved into DLF City, a township of about 3,000 acres between MG Road, Golf Course Road and the Cyber City belt. Property histories say the land for Phase 1 came from the villages of Sikanderpur and Chakkarpur, and for Phase 3 from Nathupur and Sikanderpur. Sources give different start dates for the work, so we leave the year out.
DLF City has five phases today, and the first four, the heart of the old Qutab Enclave, are described by one guide as dominated by plots and independent builder floors, with some group housing. Listings for Phase 1 and Phase 3 mention freehold plots, designer bungalows and builder floors. Because builder floors are so common in the listings, one plot can hold several families on separate levels.
For tuition, the plotted layout is the main thing to know. Lanes are lettered by block, homes are numbered on the plot, and a floor may have its own entrance or share a staircase. A tutor who has never been to your block will need more than the colony name to find you.
Public reviews of DLF Phase 1 and city news reports about the older DLF phases raise a few points that shape a weekly lesson.
Then there are the questions every parent asks: will the tutor stay with us for the year, do they know my child's board, and when should a senior student move some lessons online? The sections below answer them for the old Qutab Enclave phases.
Few parts of Gurugram are as well served by rail as the old Qutab Enclave. Sikanderpur station on the Yellow Line, between Guru Dronacharya and MG Road, is linked by a walkway to the Rapid Metro. The Rapid Metro loop then runs through DLF Phase 2, Belvedere Towers, Cyber City, Moulsari Avenue and DLF Phase 3, and a second branch heads south with a DLF Phase 1 stop on the way to Golf Course Road. A tutor living anywhere on the Yellow Line, from Delhi down to Millennium City Centre, can reach most blocks with one change and a short walk or e-rickshaw ride.
By road, MG Road (the Mehrauli–Gurgaon road) runs along the north-eastern edge, Golf Course Road along the south, and NH-48 runs past Phase 3. Tutors from Sushant Lok, South City I or the Sohna Road side usually come up Golf Course Road; those from the old city come in past IFFCO Chowk towards Phase 4.
The metro runs roughly from early morning to about 10 pm, so a very late class suits a tutor with a two-wheeler better than one coming by train. We match on subject and board first and then on distance, so a tutor already inside DLF City is usually shown before one from far away. If no home tutor fits, we say so and offer online teachers instead.
Most of Qutab Enclave is plotted streets rather than one big gated society, while the group-housing towers inside DLF City have their own gates. Plan entry like this:
Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check: a one-time code confirms their phone, and our team reviews the government photo ID they upload. That is not a police or background check, so keep the usual care. Read about how NXTutors checks tutors, keep an adult at home for the first lessons, and ask for a woman tutor in Gurgaon if you prefer one.
The old DLF phases ask for a broad mix: CBSE, ICSE and ISC, and a good share of IB and Cambridge IGCSE. Two schools on the owner-approved Gurugram list are in these phases. Shiv Nadar School, in DLF City Phase 1, E-Block, lists CBSE, IB MYP, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma. The Shri Ram School, at V-37 Moulsari Avenue in DLF City Phase 3, lists CISCE (ICSE and ISC), Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma. We have no tie-up with either school; they are named only to show which boards are close.
For a home tutor, the board decides the routine. An ICSE or ISC student needs fuller written English and detailed working; an ICSE home tutor will set long-answer practice. A CBSE student needs NCERT-based practice. An IB or IGCSE student needs someone who knows the criteria or tiers. The CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE comparison explains the differences.
In a plotted home, a young child can have a lesson in the same quiet room each week, away from visitors at the front door. Short sessions two or three times a week work well for phonics, reading aloud, handwriting and early maths. Ask the tutor to keep a one-page note of what was done so the habit carries over to homework.
Middle-school children here are split between boards early, so the tutor must follow the school's own scheme. An English home tutor is a common second request at this age, alongside Maths and Science, especially for ICSE students whose writing load grows fast.
For CBSE Class 10, the board's two-examination scheme means revision can be planned in two rounds. For ICSE, the tutor should practise full written answers under time. For IGCSE, the tutor should know whether your child is entered for Core or Extended and set past papers from that tier.
Seniors usually need one specialist per subject. A Class 12 home tutor for Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Accountancy or Economics will plan around practical work, project deadlines and pre-boards. IB DP students need help with internal assessments and extended essays as well as exam papers.
Students who aim at engineering or medical entrance tests often take a JEE home tutor who connects the board course with the entrance pattern. Both JEE (Main) and NEET (UG) are run by the National Testing Agency, which publishes their dates.
With so many boards in one neighbourhood, exam months overlap: CBSE and CISCE board papers early in the year, the Cambridge March and June series, and IB exams in May. Each board publishes its own dates; we do not guess them. Specialists here get booked early, so arrange revision help by October for a spring exam, and keep an online option for monsoon or smog days when the roads are slow.
Home tuition suits younger children in the old DLF phases: quiet lanes, a room at home and no drive across Golf Course Road. With the metro close by, older students can also reach a centre easily, which makes group coaching a real option for a confident student.
Online makes sense for niche subjects and for international-board specialists who may live far away. Many families combine a home tutor during term with online practice before exams. A free demo at home is the simplest way to see what suits your child.
One more local point: if your block is a short walk from a Rapid Metro stop, say so on the request. It widens the pool to tutors who travel by train from Delhi or the far end of the Yellow Line, which matters most for specialist subjects where the nearest good teacher may not live in DLF City at all.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
The fee is set by the tutor and is on the shortlist before you book. What moves it:
You can change tutor at no cost if the first one does not suit.
We did not find a public library in the old DLF phases in any source we checked. For a break from the desk, the Aravali Biodiversity Park lies near Guru Dronacharya metro station, with walking trails; check its seasonal hours before you go. Serious study is still easier at home.
