Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

DLF Phase 4 sits in the Golf Course Road zone of Gurugram. It is a plotted DLF phase built around Galleria Market and the Supermart blocks, with a few large gated societies on its edges. This guide covers what that mix means for a tutor's route, the doorbell or the gate, the weekly slot and the lesson itself.

DLF Phase 4 is one of the original DLF City phases. A property guide to the phases describes it as mainly plots and independent builder floors, with some group housing, and a settled, green residential feel. Listings put the phase in Sectors 27 and 28, and NoBroker's locality page lists gated societies, independent houses and standalone buildings side by side. In practice, one lane may hold a three-storey builder floor with a different family on each level, and the next may end at the gate of a society with towers and a guard desk.
The phase is organised around its markets. Galleria Market, listed in Sector 28, is an open-air market of shops, cafés and services, and Cross Point Mall faces it. The Supermart blocks are the other daily stop: a reviewer on a property portal describes Super Mart I and II as a walk away for everyday needs, and a hotel listing gives an address behind DLF Supermart-1 in Sector 27. For tuition this matters in a small way: the lanes around these markets fill with cars in the evening, which affects where a tutor can stop.
The housing type shapes the lesson more than the address. In a builder floor, the study table is usually in the child's room or the dining area, and stairs rather than a lift lead to the door. In a society flat, the tutor passes a gate first but then has a lift and a numbered tower. Both work well; they simply need different instructions on the first day.
Public reviews of the phase on NoBroker, 99acres and BigEstate return to a short list of themes. Each has a plain meaning for a weekly tutor.
Beyond these, parents ask the same practical questions as anywhere else: will the tutor hold the slot all year, does the tutor know my child's board, and is a senior subject better at home or online? The sections below answer those for DLF Phase 4.
DLF Phase 4 has no metro station of its own, but three stations sit close enough for a tutor who rides the train. On the Delhi Metro Yellow Line, IFFCO Chowk station in Sector 29 opened in 2010 and has three gates; the next stops are MG Road to the north and Millennium City Centre Gurugram to the south. On the Rapid Metro, DLF Phase 1 station opened in March 2017 on the Golf Course Road extension, between Sikanderpur and Sector 42-43. Property portals put these stations roughly one to two kilometres from the phase, depending on where they measure from, so most metro riders finish the trip by auto, e-rickshaw or a walk.
A tutor coming from Delhi or from Sectors 14–15 on the Yellow Line usually gets off at IFFCO Chowk or Millennium City Centre. One coming along Golf Course Road from Phase 5 or the Sector 53–54 side may take the Rapid Metro and get off at DLF Phase 1, or change at Sikanderpur from the Yellow Line. The Rapid Metro runs roughly from early morning to about 10 pm, so a late lesson suits a tutor with a two-wheeler better than one going home by train.
By road, BigEstate lists Golf Course Road, MG Road and NH-48 as the phase's main links. Tutors living in Sushant Lok 1, DLF Phase 1 or Sector 28 can often reach a Phase 4 lane in a short ride on internal roads without touching a main road. Those coming from the South City or Sohna Road side cross Golf Course Road or MG Road, which is where office traffic builds in the evening. When you compare shortlisted tutors, ask where they will be coming from on your class days, not just where they live.
Most of DLF Phase 4 is plotted, so many tutors ring a doorbell rather than pass a guard desk. That makes the first visit simple, but the house number must be exact: builder floors often carry a floor suffix, and several homes can share a plot number. Send the full address with the floor, a map pin, and a landmark such as the nearest Supermart block or the Galleria end of your lane.
In a gated society like Ridgewood Estate or Regency Park, add the tutor to the visitor list or society app before the demo, give the tower and flat number, and say which gate to use. Ask the guard desk once whether a regular tutor can be set up as a frequent visitor, so the entry is quick from the second week.
Tutors who join go through an ID check, and a Phase 4 parent sees the badge only once our team has reviewed that ID; read how we check tutors. It is not a police or background check, so keep the ordinary home routine: an adult at home for the demo and the first few lessons, the study table in an open room, and the door left ajar for a young child. If you would like a woman tutor, say so when you ask and we shortlist only women tutors in Gurgaon for your request.
DLF Phase 4 itself holds none of the schools on our approved Gurugram list, but four sit in the wider Golf Course Road zone. In alphabetical order: Lancers International School in Sector 53, DLF Phase 5 (IB PYP, MYP, DP and Cambridge IGCSE); Shiv Nadar School in DLF City Phase 1, E-Block (CBSE, IB MYP, Cambridge IGCSE and IB DP); Suncity School in Sector 54 (CBSE); and The Shri Ram School's Moulsari campus in DLF City Phase 3 (CISCE ICSE/ISC, Cambridge IGCSE and IB DP). NXTutors has no link with any of them; we name them only because they explain the board mix in requests from this phase.
So a Phase 4 request may name CBSE, ICSE or ISC, or a single IB or IGCSE paper. In a builder floor with a small study corner, that mostly changes what the tutor brings: printed past papers and mark schemes for IGCSE and IB, NCERT books and sample papers for CBSE. Name the board and year when you ask, and see our guide to CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE for the full comparison, or the ICSE home tutor page for Gurgaon.
For young children, the tutor's travel time matters as much as the subject, because a short, regular lesson soon after school works far better than a long one late in the evening. A tutor living in a neighbouring phase is ideal here. The work is reading, handwriting, number sense and the school's worksheets; keep the school diary on the table so the tutor sees what the class covered. Our primary tutors in Gurgaon page explains what to look for.
These years are where a gap in fractions, algebra or grammar first shows. Two lessons a week is common, often maths plus one other subject. In a builder floor with stairs, a tutor carrying a whiteboard or a laptop for diagrams will appreciate a ground-floor table or help with the gate.
Board-year planning begins here. CBSE students work from NCERT books and sample papers; ICSE students need a tutor who knows CISCE's long-answer style; IGCSE students need practice with Cambridge mark schemes. Many Phase 4 families pick one subject tutor for maths tuition at home and another for science, rather than one tutor for everything.
Senior students need subject depth before distance. Ask for a specialist by paper: ISC Physics, CBSE Chemistry, IB Maths Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, or JEE Mathematics. If nobody close enough teaches that exact paper, a hybrid plan works well: one home lesson on a weekday and an online lesson with a specialist on another day. School buses, coaching and practical days compete for the same evenings at this stage, so fix the slot around the school timetable first.
In one Phase 4 lane, children can be on three different exam calendars. CBSE and CISCE board papers come in the early months of the year; IB Diploma exams run in May and November sessions; Cambridge IGCSE has March, June and November series. Take dates only from the board's own website, and ask the tutor to move from new topics to past papers about two months before the first paper. Exam weeks often mean extra lessons; book them early, because tutors who teach several Phase 4 and Phase 5 students fill their evenings fast in that period.
A home tutor suits DLF Phase 4 well because the phase is compact and many tutors already teach in the neighbouring phases. It suits younger children, students who need close supervision, and anyone who finds it hard to concentrate on a screen. The cost is the tutor's travel time, which shows up in scheduling rather than anything else.
Online works for a single specialist paper, for a Class 12 student who needs a late slot after coaching, or on a rain-heavy evening when every road slows down. Many families here mix the two: a home lesson early in the week for new work, and a short online lesson in Gurgaon for practice. A coaching centre suits students preparing for a competitive exam who want a batch and a test series; a home tutor can then fill the gaps one to one. Decide by your child's need, not by habit.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Tutors on NXTutors set their own fee, and you see it on the shortlist before the free demo. In DLF Phase 4, what moves the fee is the same as elsewhere in Gurugram: the class and board, whether the paper needs a specialist, how far the tutor travels and at what hour, and how many lessons a week you book. A tutor who already teaches in the next phase on your class evening may be able to offer a slot that one driving across the city cannot. There is no charge from NXTutors for the shortlist or for switching tutor.
We could not find a public library inside DLF Phase 4. Some gated societies list a library among their amenities, Ridgewood Estate among them, which can suit a self-study hour. For a walk between study blocks, residents use the parks of the phase and Leisure Valley Park nearby. For an actual lesson, a quiet room at home is still the practical choice.

DLF Phase 4 is one of the DLF phases at the heart of our Golf Course Road zone, mostly independent houses and builder floors on residential lanes, with Sushant Lok 1 close by and DLF Phase 5 next door. Because homes in the phases are close together, many tutors teach two or three students here on one evening, and a tutor already in Phase 4 at 5 pm can reach Phase 5 far more easily than one driving in from another zone. That makes an early-evening slot in Phase 4 easier to fill than in most of the city.
What families in Phase 4 ask for is usually specific. CBSE and ICSE students in Classes 9 to 12 most often need maths home tutors, science, physics or chemistry, and international-school students often want help with one paper, such as IB Maths at Higher Level or IGCSE Maths Extended. Name the board, level and paper when you ask, and share a recent marked test so the demo is on real work.
A few practical points for a home class here. In a floor there is usually no guard desk, so the tutor rings the bell; tell them where to park, because lanes are narrow and a two-wheeler often arrives faster than a car. Office traffic on Golf Course Road and around the Rapid Metro builds from about six, so a class that starts before 5 pm or after 7:30 pm is easier to keep. Tutors from Central Gurugram and the South City side usually reach the phase without trouble in the afternoon.
