Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

The society sits beside Silver Oak Avenue, a short walk from Qutub Plaza, with the Faridabad road just outside. That makes it one of the easier addresses in the DLF belt for a tutor to find, as long as the gate knows they are coming.

DLF Silver Oaks is a gated group-housing project built by DLF, and portals list it as ready to move. OpenStreetMap draws it as its own residential block, named Silver Oak Apartments, inside Sector 26. Around it on the map lie the plotted lanes of DLF Phase 1, so the society is an island of towers in a neighbourhood that is otherwise mostly houses and builder floors.
The flats come in three sizes: two, three and four bedrooms. Listing portals agree on twelve towers but not on the land area, giving either about 14.5 acres or 15 acres. We do not lean on either number. What matters for a tutor is simpler: your tower number and floor are the address, and the intercom at the gate is how they get in.
In a tower flat, the study space is usually a bedroom desk or the dining table. Three- and four-bedroom flats often have a room that can be kept as the lesson room each week, which helps a child settle. In a two-bedroom flat, pick the quieter hour of the evening rather than the quieter room, because the household is closer together.
Lifts serve the towers, so a tutor reaching the gate on time may still need a little longer to get to your door. Allow for that in the start time, especially if the class is short.
Some flats here are let out, so families arrive at different points in the school year. If you have just moved in, say so in your request: a tutor can begin by finding out where the new school's syllabus has reached and filling gaps from the old one, rather than starting the textbook from page one.
On the map, Silver Oak Avenue runs along the society and the link road to the Faridabad road is close by. The lettered blocks of the phase, with names such as A, B, C and D on the map, surround it on the other sides.
We found no independent resident review thread for this society, so the themes below come from public locality notes on property portals and from newspaper reports on the DLF phases. We give each one as practical planning advice rather than as a verdict.
None of these themes is unique to Silver Oaks; they are about the setting. Ask your neighbours how other tutors have managed the gate and the evening traffic, and use that alongside this list.
Most tutors will arrive by road. The society is listed about a hundred metres from the Gurgaon–Faridabad road and about two kilometres from Golf Course Road, and on OpenStreetMap the link road to the Faridabad road, Sunset Boulevard and Ashoka Crescent Marg all pass close by. A tutor coming from Sohna Road or the south can use the Faridabad road; one coming from the Golf Course Road side can cut in through the phase.
Two stations matter. The DLF Phase 1 station of the Rapid Metro, on Raghavendra Marg in Sector 26A, is roughly a kilometre from the society in a straight line on OpenStreetMap. Sikanderpur, a little further, is where the Rapid Metro meets the Yellow Line, with a walkway between the two. The Rapid Metro's Golf Course Road branch runs from Sikanderpur to DLF Phase 1 and on to Sector 42–43, so a tutor living along that branch can ride a stop or two and walk. One portal also lists Guru Dronacharya on the Yellow Line at around a kilometre and a half from the sector.
Rapid Metro trains run roughly from six in the morning to ten at night, which covers an evening class comfortably, but a late finish after a long session is worth checking against the last train.
The Kushboo Chowk stop on the city bus network is a short walk from the society, according to OpenStreetMap.
When you send a request, include which gate you use and a map pin, and say whether a two-wheeler or car can be parked. Tutors who travel to Silver Oaks from nearby sectors in the MG Road & Cyber City zone or from the DLF phases next door are usually the easiest to keep on a fixed weekday slot.
Portals list round-the-clock security, CCTV and an intercom here, so expect the guard to stop a new face and call your flat. That check is a good thing; it just needs a little preparation so the first lesson does not start late.
On safety: tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, confirming a phone or email with a one-time code and uploading a government photo ID for our team to review. Read how we check tutors. It is not a police or background check. Meet the tutor at the free demo, keep lessons in a room that others can see into, and have an adult at home for a young child. You can ask for a woman tutor in Gurgaon in your request.
Families in the DLF phases ask us about CBSE, ICSE and ISC, and the Cambridge and IB programmes, often within the same building. On our approved list of Gurugram schools, three sit in the Golf Course Road belt nearest this society: Lancers International School in Sector 53, DLF Phase 5 (IB PYP, IB MYP, Cambridge IGCSE, IB DP); Shiv Nadar School in DLF City Phase 1, E-Block (CBSE, IB MYP, Cambridge IGCSE, IB DP); and The Shri Ram School in DLF City Phase 3 (CISCE, Cambridge IGCSE, IB DP). We name them only so you know which boards are taught nearby; NXTutors has no link with any school.
For a home tutor in a tower flat, the board changes the tools more than the room. An IB or IGCSE student needs space to spread past papers and a laptop for coursework drafts; a CBSE or ICSE student in Class 10 needs a table big enough for the full sample paper and the answer sheet side by side. Tell the tutor the board and the exact level, for example IGCSE Extended or IB Maths at Higher Level. For the full comparison, read our guide to choosing between CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE.
Younger children here come home to a society with a play area and park, and the pull to go down and play is strong. A short lesson soon after the child has eaten, before play time, tends to hold better than one squeezed in at night. Reading aloud, handwriting, number sense and times tables suit two or three short visits a week. A primary tutor can also help a parent see which school worksheets matter.
This is when maths starts to stack up: fractions turn into algebra and geometry asks for proofs in words. A weekly or twice-weekly home class with homework checked against the school's own pattern keeps gaps from growing. Science in these classes is often still one subject, so one tutor can cover it alongside maths.
The board year changes the rhythm. Ask for a fixed slot that will not move in exam season, and a tutor who sets timed papers. For a maths tutor near Sector 26, say which chapters the school has finished so the tutor can plan revision from there. CBSE now holds two board examinations for Class 10, the second for improvement, according to the board's own notice; plan revision with both sittings in mind.
Subjects split, and so do tutors. A student taking physics, chemistry and maths may need two specialists rather than one generalist, and the timetable inside a tower flat has to fit both. Weekday online sessions plus one longer weekend home class is a pattern that suits some senior students. Look at Class 12 tutors who travel across Gurgaon if the school's own board year is close.
For JEE or NEET alongside school, name the exam and the year of attempt, and say whether the tutor is for school marks, entrance practice, or both. Those are different jobs, and the shortlist we send will reflect which one you need.
School board exams for CBSE and CISCE fall early in the calendar year, and both boards publish the timetable on their own sites; check there rather than relying on forwarded messages. Cambridge runs a March series for schools in India alongside June and November, and IB Diploma exams sit in May and November.
In practice, the weeks after the winter break are when Silver Oaks families ask to add a second weekly session. Book that extra slot early, because tutors across the DLF phases fill up at the same time. Keep the online fallback in place for days when traffic or weather makes the trip unreliable.
A tutor at home spares your child the drive through Sikanderpur and the Faridabad road in the evening, and you can hear how the lesson is going from the next room. The trade-off is the gate and parking routine, and a smaller pool of tutors willing to make the trip at peak hour.
Online classes remove the journey completely and open up specialists from anywhere, which helps for an IB HL or JEE Advanced topic. They work well for doubt-clearing and test review, less well for a young child who needs someone beside them. See online tutors for Gurgaon families.
A coaching centre gives a timetable and peers, but adds travel and a group pace. Some families here mix: a home tutor for new topics and written work, and online sessions in between. Tell us which pattern you want, and we shortlist on that basis.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Tutors at Silver Oaks are not on a fixed rate card; every tutor names a fee, and it appears beside their name on your shortlist ahead of the demo. What moves the figure up or down:
Ask at the demo what the fee covers: tests, worksheets, or messages between classes.
One property portal lists a library among the society's facilities and others list a clubhouse and party hall. Check with the society office whether any room can be used for reading; we could not confirm one. For a break outdoors, Aravali Biodiversity Park lies near Guru Dronacharya metro station, with walking trails. Most study here will happen at the home desk.

DLF Silver Oaks is listed in Sector 26, which NXTutors covers through the combined Sectors 26–28 page. No other project in Sector 26 has its own page here yet, so that combined page is the natural place for a wider view.
You may wonder whether being in the MG Road & Cyber City zone matters. It does, in one way: once you have seen the people based at, or regularly visiting, DLF Silver Oaks, the next names are teachers working elsewhere in the zone, and only then wider Gurugram and teaching done online. Its recorded PIN, 122002, is used by twenty-five other area pages as well, among them DLF Phase 1 and Sector 27.
For Maths or Science in the senior classes, a tutor who teaches online can supplement home lessons, and a younger child may need only one regular visit a week. Tell us which pattern you have in mind. Before the first visit, share the block and flat number and arrange gate entry for the tutor. Mention any school test dates as well, so the opening lessons are planned around them rather than starting from page one.
