What home tuition costs in Gurgaon

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Home tuition across Sectors 26–28: the short answer

Yes. Families in Sectors 26, 27 and 28 can have a tutor teach at home, online, or both in the same week. Send us the class, board, subjects and the lane or society you live in, and we reply with two or three matched tutors who travel to this belt or teach online. Each tutor's fee is on their card before you book, the opening class is a free demo, and swapping tutor later costs nothing.

This page is for homes in the three sectors that do not have a page of their own: the DLF Phase 1 lanes and Sikanderpur village in Sector 26, the DLF Phase 4 side of Sector 27 and the Chakkarpur and Maruti Vihar side of Sector 28. It sits in our MG Road & Cyber City zone of Gurugram. Two Yellow Line stations, Sikanderpur and MG Road, frame the belt, which helps a tutor who travels by metro.

Three sectors, three kinds of street

The three sectors sit side by side on the southern flank of MG Road, but they do not look alike, and that shapes how a tutor finds your home.

Sector 26: DLF Phase 1 lanes and Sikanderpur

OpenStreetMap draws Sector 26 with the DLF Phase 1 residential lanes on one side, named after trees and flowers: Kusum Marg, Champa Marg, Kachnar Marg and Silver Oak Avenue among them, with house blocks such as G and H. Sikanderpur village sits inside the same sector boundary, close to the Yellow Line, and its lanes are narrower and busier than the DLF streets. Office towers such as Global Business Park and Global Gateway Towers line the MG Road edge, and Sunset Boulevard runs through the DLF side. The DLF Silver Oaks complex has its own page.

Sector 27: the DLF Phase 4 side

Much of Sector 27 falls inside the DLF City Phase 4 boundary, where plotted houses and builder floors line lanes like Hibiscus Lane, Marigold Lane and Ridge Valley Lane, and Super Mart I serves daily shopping. The detail is on our Sector 27 page.

Sector 28: Chakkarpur, Maruti Vihar and the mall strip

Sector 28 holds Chakkarpur village, with its numbered galis, the Maruti Vihar colony, and gated towers such as Sahara Grace and Essel Towers. Along MG Road it carries a long row of malls, including Sahara Mall, MGF Mega City and DT City Centre. More is on the Sector 28 page.

Put simply: a tutor coming here may be walking down a DLF lane to a ground-floor gate, climbing stairs to a second-floor builder flat, or signing in at a tower lobby. We do not describe who the families are; we only need to know which of these your home is.

Which tutor fits your child?

What parents in Sectors 26–28 weigh before choosing

Public discussion of this belt keeps returning to a handful of practical themes. None of them should stop a good tutoring plan, but each is worth planning around.

  • MG Road crowding. Reports on MG Road describe congestion near IFFCO Chowk and around the malls, and GMDA is studying a grade separator at Sikanderpur and a foot overbridge near the malls. Parents read this as a timing question: lessons that start before the evening office rush, or after it settles, are easier to keep.
  • Footpaths and road edges. Societies along MG Road asked the authorities to clear encroachments, and a joint GMDA–MCG drive followed in June 2025. For a tutor who walks from the metro, the route along the main road is less pleasant than the inner lanes, so give a walking route that leaves MG Road early.
  • Rain. Heavy rain has left MG Road waterlogged before, and the IFFCO Chowk underpass has been shut on a very wet morning. Families plan a simple rule with the tutor: on a red-alert evening, the class moves online at the same time.
  • Finding the house. House numbers in village lanes and in DLF blocks are not always easy to read in the dark. A shared map pin settles it.

Beyond these, parents in this belt talk about the same things as anywhere else: a tutor who follows the school's pace, honest feedback, and a fixed slot that does not slip each week.

How a tutor reaches Sectors 26, 27 and 28

Yellow Line. Sikanderpur and MG Road stations sit on MG Road along the northern edge of the belt, and Guru Dronacharya, one stop further towards Delhi, has a gate mapped on the Sector 26 side. A tutor who lives anywhere along the Yellow Line, from Millennium City Centre Gurugram upwards, can ride in and walk or take a short auto ride into the lanes. For Sector 26 homes, Sikanderpur and Guru Dronacharya are usually the nearer stops; for Chakkarpur and Maruti Vihar, MG Road station is the natural one.

Rapid Metro. Sikanderpur is also where the Rapid Metro meets the Yellow Line. A tutor from Golf Course Road, Cyber City or DLF Phase 2 and 3 can change there and come out on MG Road. The Rapid Metro runs from about six in the morning to ten at night, so a tutor taking a late class should check the last train home.

By road. MG Road carries most traffic across the belt, with the Cyber City flyover and the Sikanderpur underpass near the junction and a link road heading towards Faridabad from Bristol Chowk. Inside the sectors, the DLF lanes are calm, while village lanes in Sikanderpur and Chakkarpur can be tight for a car. A tutor on a two-wheeler often has the easier time here.

From next door. Tutors who already teach in DLF Phase 1 or along MG Road are only a few lanes away, which makes a weekday evening slot simpler to keep.

Gates, stairs and safety in this belt

How the first visit goes depends on the kind of home.

  • DLF plot or builder floor. There is often no guard to call ahead. Tell the tutor which floor, whether the ground-floor gate stays locked, and whose bell to ring. If the stairwell light is on a switch, leave it on at lesson time.
  • Gated tower. In Sahara Grace, Essel Towers and other societies, put the tutor's name and phone number into the visitor app or with the guard the day before, and give the tower and flat.
  • Village lane. In Sikanderpur or Chakkarpur, send a pin and the name of a shop or temple at the corner. Shiv Mandir Marg in Sector 26 is one such mapped lane.
  • Parking. Lanes near the malls and the village markets fill up in the evening; tell a driving tutor where a car can stand for an hour.

On safety: tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check (read how the tutor ID check works). It confirms identity; it is not a police or background check. Meet the tutor at the demo, sit in for part of the first class with a younger child, and keep the study room door open.

Boards families in Sectors 26–28 ask about

Two schools on our approved Gurugram list sit close to this belt, in the next zone: Shiv Nadar School in DLF City Phase 1, E-Block, which follows CBSE alongside IB MYP, Cambridge IGCSE and IB DP, and The Shri Ram School on Moulsari Avenue, DLF City Phase 3, which follows CISCE (ICSE/ISC), Cambridge IGCSE and IB DP. Naming them says nothing about any link with NXTutors; they simply show why requests from this belt span CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE and IB.

For a home tutor, the board changes the material more than the room. An IB or IGCSE student needs space for coursework and a laptop; a CBSE Class 10 student now has two board exams in the year, the second optional for improvement, so the plan has to cover both. To compare boards side by side, read our guide to CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE, or ask for an IGCSE tutor in Gurgaon.

What to ask for at each stage

Nursery to Class 5

Young children do well with a tutor who comes to them, at a fixed hour on fixed weekdays. In a builder floor, pick the room with the least street noise; DLF lanes are quiet, but rooms that face MG Road or a village market are not. Reading, number sense and handwriting are the usual focus.

Classes 6 to 8

Middle school is where small gaps in fractions, grammar or basic science quietly widen. One tutor covering Maths and Science twice a week is a common start. Ask for a short written check every fortnight so you see progress without waiting for the school's term results.

Classes 9 and 10

Board preparation begins in Class 9, not Class 10. A tutor should finish the syllabus with time left for sample papers and timed writing. Since two Yellow Line stations frame the belt, you can look beyond the nearest tutor and choose a subject specialist, for example a Class 10 home tutor in Gurgaon for the board year.

Classes 11 and 12

Senior students usually need a separate tutor for each heavy subject, Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology, or Accountancy and Economics. Lessons are longer, and some families keep one home tutor for the hardest subject and take the others online. Ask for a physics tutor for Classes 11 and 12 if that is the subject that keeps your child up at night.

JEE, NEET and IB Diploma

Entrance and IB Diploma preparation needs a tutor who knows the paper pattern, not just the chapter. These specialists are fewer, so be open to online classes or to a tutor who comes from further along the metro.

Exam season in Sectors 26–28

School board exams fall early in the calendar year; CBSE publishes its date sheet on cbse.gov.in and CISCE on cisce.org. IB Diploma students sit in May or November, Cambridge IGCSE candidates in India in the March, June or November series, and JEE Main and NEET dates come only from the National Testing Agency. Take dates from the board, then agree with the tutor when lessons shift to revision. In the weeks before exams, MG Road evenings are still busy, so an extra revision class is easier to add online or on a weekend morning.

Home, online or a coaching centre?

Home tuition suits children who need a calm desk, a fixed routine and an adult who sees their notebook every week. It works well in DLF floors and towers here, provided the slot avoids the evening rush on MG Road.

Online classes make sense for a specialist who lives across the city, for a late slot after the last metro, and for rain days. A laptop, a headset and a quiet corner are enough.

A coaching centre brings a batch, a timetable and peer pressure, which some older students like. The trade-off is less personal attention and the travel itself. Some families combine a centre for entrance practice with a home tutor for school subjects. If you want to try online first, see online tutors in Gurgaon.

What home tuition costs in Sectors 26–28

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

What moves a fee is the class and board, the subject, how many hours a week, and the tutor's experience. A specialist for one senior subject usually charges more than a tutor covering several junior subjects. Travel can matter too: a tutor coming across MG Road at rush hour may ask for a slightly longer slot rather than two short ones.

Every tutor sets their own fee and you see it on their card before the demo. The demo itself is free, and if the fit is wrong you can move to another tutor without paying anything to switch.

Quiet places to study near Sectors 26–28

We could not confirm a public library inside these three sectors, so this section stays short. For outdoor breaks rather than study, the Aravali Biodiversity Park lies near Guru Dronacharya station and is run by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram with a citizens' group. For focused work, a fixed desk at home remains the simplest answer.

AI-first tutoring, with real teachers

How AI matching finds a tutor for Sectors 26–28

You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Sectors 26–28 you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

  1. 1. It reads your requestClass, board (CBSE, ICSE, UP Board, IB or IGCSE), subject and the time slots that suit you.
  2. 2. It ranks by fit and distanceSubject and board first, then tutors who list Sectors 26–28 among the areas they travel to, then the rest of MG Road & Cyber City, then Gurugram.
  3. 3. It offers online where it fitsIf home tutors for your subject are thin near Sectors 26–28, it says so and suggests online tutors instead of stretching the distance.
  4. 4. You meet the tutorThe first class is a free demo at home or online. You decide after it, not the algorithm.

Where AI stops and people start

  • Tutors who join go through an ID check by our team (how we check tutors). Sample profiles are marked as samples.
  • Teachers set the plan and have the final say on how your child learns.
  • The AI can make mistakes, and we say so: check important answers with the teacher.

About this Area

Rather than one sector, this page spans three: Sectors 26–28, recorded under Sector 26 in the MG Road & Cyber City zone. Six housing projects in Sector 26 have pages of their own, namely DLF Regency Park 2, DLF Ridgewood Estate, DLF Silver Oaks, Essel Towers, Sahara Grace and The Laburnum. Live in one of those? Open its page. Otherwise, this is the page for you.

The PIN noted here, 122002, is shared with twenty-five other pages, Sector 27 among them, so it cannot tell you much about how close a tutor is. Names help more: teachers based in Sectors 26–28, or willing to come over, are shown first, with those working across the zone just after them. Other pages carrying the same code include DLF Magnolias, DLF The Belaire and DLF Park Place. After the zone come tutors elsewhere in Gurugram, and online tutors close the list.

Write to us with your society, the class and board, and any chapters causing trouble. A switch of tutor later costs nothing, so the first choice need not be final. If your child is in Classes 9 to 12, mention which subjects the school sets the heaviest work in, so the demo can start with the one that matters most this term.

FAQs

Send NXTutors your child's class, board and subjects with your lane or society in Sectors 26, 27 or 28, and we share two or three matched tutors. Each card shows the tutor's fee before you book, the first class is a free demo, and you can switch tutor later at no cost.
Fees in Sectors 26–28 follow the NXTutors range and depend on class, subject and hours. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. You see the exact fee on each tutor's card before the free demo.
Yes, families in Sector 26 and the rest of the 26–28 belt can ask for a woman tutor when they send the request. Say so with the class and subjects; we shortlist women tutors who travel to the area or teach online, and you meet them at the free demo before deciding.
For most of Sector 26, Sikanderpur and Guru Dronacharya on the Yellow Line are the nearer stations, with a Guru Dronacharya gate mapped on the Sector 26 side. Sikanderpur also connects to the Rapid Metro, so tutors from Golf Course Road and Cyber City can change there.
Yes, tutors can teach at homes in Sikanderpur village, which falls inside the Sector 26 boundary near the Yellow Line. Because the lanes are narrow, send a map pin and a nearby shop or temple as a landmark, and tell the tutor where a two-wheeler or car can stop.
Yes, maths tutors who travel to Chakkarpur, Maruti Vihar and the gated societies of Sector 28 can be matched to your child's class and board. Send the chapters that worry your child; for Classes 11 and 12, ask for a maths specialist rather than an all-subject tutor.
For a Class 10 student in Sectors 26–28, a home tutor suits steady school-paced work, while a coaching centre suits a student who wants a batch and fixed tests. Some families use a home tutor for weak subjects and keep coaching only for practice papers.
Tutors who travel to Sectors 26–28 teach CBSE, ICSE and ISC, Cambridge IGCSE and IB, because nearby schools on our approved list follow these boards. Name your child's board and the school's textbooks in the request, so the shortlist matches the syllabus your child actually studies.
Yes, a tutor can teach in a builder floor like those on the DLF Phase 4 lanes of Sector 27. Tell the tutor which floor you are on, whether the street gate stays locked and whose bell to ring, so the first class starts on time.
Near MG Road in Sector 28, slots that start before the evening office rush or after it eases are the easiest to keep. Weekend mornings also work well. If a weekday slot keeps slipping, move one class a week online with the same tutor.
On very wet days in Sectors 26–28 the class can move online at the usual time, because MG Road and the IFFCO Chowk underpass have flooded in past heavy rain. Agree this rule with the tutor at the demo so nobody wastes an evening stuck in traffic.
No, this page covers homes across Sectors 26, 27 and 28 that do not have their own NXTutors page, such as Sector 26 lanes and Sikanderpur. Sector 27, Sector 28, DLF Silver Oaks and Sahara Grace each have a separate page with their own tutors listed.
Yes, one tutor can teach siblings in a Sector 27 home, either one after the other or together if they are in similar classes. Mention both children's classes and boards in the request, so the tutors we suggest are comfortable with both levels.
Yes, the combined page is meant for homes in Sectors 26, 27 and 28, though our records file it under Sector 26. Sector 27 also has a page of its own, so it is worth checking both. Name your society and a convenient time whenever you get in touch, and we will match accordingly.
Start with the Essel Towers page, since it lists first the tutors naming that project. Then come back to Sectors 26–28, which gathers tutors covering the wider sector. The same applies to Sahara Grace, The Laburnum and the other projects with pages. Either way, you start with a free demo class.
DLF Regency Park 2, DLF Ridgewood Estate, DLF Silver Oaks, Essel Towers, Sahara Grace and The Laburnum each have a page listing the tutors nearest to that society first. If yours is not among them, this Sectors 26–28 page covers it; when you ask for a tutor, give the society, tower and gate, so the first visit starts on time.
