Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Sector 31 belongs to the Central Gurugram zone of Gurugram, close to NH-48 and Jharsa Road. This guide looks at its colonies, its market, the routes tutors use and the practical side of lessons in its mix of homes.

|---|---|

| Workable slots | Mid-afternoon or after the evening rush; weekend mornings for longer sessions |
Sector 31 is a long-settled sector where HUDA colony flats sit beside private societies and family houses. NoBroker's listings for the sector are a near-even mix of society flats and independent houses, so the kind of home a tutor walks into varies a great deal from street to street.
LIG Colony and Housing Board Colony are the two named colonies. Square Yards lists the Housing Board Colony as a HUDA development of 2 BHK flats. LIG Colony has its own community market and LIG Park. Raheja Teachers Apartments is another named pocket. In flats of this size, lessons usually happen at the dining table, so the household's evening routine decides which slot works.
Raheja Atlantis is the big gated complex in the sector, with a clubhouse, gym and pool listed, and has its own Raheja Atlantis page on NXTutors. Smaller societies and buildings that portals list include The Peach Jasmine CGHS, Narkanda Apartments, Shashi Estate, HSIIDC Apartment, Navketan Apartment, Hewo Apartments, Shree Ganesh Apartments, SPS Homes and Kedar Society. Square Yards also lists Birla Arika, a large project under construction in the sector.
Huda Market is Sector 31's main market and an easy landmark to give a new tutor. In September 2025 the Tribune reported that GMDA and the municipal corporation ran joint drives against encroachment in the area, and that GMDA cleared about three acres of greenbelt along the national highway and Jharsa Road for landscaping. For families, that is mainly a reminder that the market streets can be crowded and that the edge of the sector is changing.
Because the homes range so widely, it pays to describe yours in the request: a society flat with a guard, a colony flat up a staircase, or a house with its own gate. Tutors plan the visit differently for each.
Some colony and small-society flats are reached by a staircase rather than a lift. That matters little for a fit tutor, but it does mean the lesson space should be ready before the bell rings, so the first minutes are not lost moving chairs. A small folding table or a fixed corner of the dining table, with good light and a plug point for a laptop, is enough. If the building has several staircases, tell the tutor which one leads to your door.
Public reviews of Sector 31 on property portals keep returning to a few themes:
These are planning points. With a sensible slot and clear directions, home tuition in Sector 31 runs smoothly.
Sector 31 has no metro station of its own. The nearest is Millennium City Centre Gurugram, the Yellow Line terminus in Sector 29; NoBroker's pages give it as roughly 2.3 to 3.5 km away depending on the part of the sector. Tutors coming by metro finish by auto or cab. Bus stops listed in the sector include Hope Apartment and Hewo Apartment.
By road, the internal routes are Sector 31 Main Road, Sector 32A Road and Yadav Marg, and NH-48 and Jharsa Road run along the sector's edge, where the Tribune placed the cleared greenbelt. Square Yards places Sector 40, Sector 39, Sector 30 and Sector 15 within about a kilometre, so a tutor already teaching in one of those sectors is often the easiest match. A tutor from the DLF side has to cross the highway, which is where the time goes at rush hour.
Landmarks that help in directions: Huda Market, Raheja Atlantis, the LIG Colony market and, just next door in Sector 38, Medanta on CH Baktawar Singh Road. Add your house or flat number, the lane, and where to park.
Entry rules depend on the home. In a gated society such as Raheja Atlantis, the guard will call your flat for a new visitor; register the tutor for fixed days so later visits are quick. Smaller apartment blocks may have a single guard or a locked gate, and a colony flat or a house is reached straight from the street. Wherever you are, a house number on the gate and a map pin save the first visit from turning into a search.
Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check; this page describes what is checked. It is an identity check, not a police check, and the free demo gives you the chance to meet the tutor before you agree anything. With younger children, keep the lesson in a room where an adult can see in. Ask in your message if you would like a woman tutor.
Sector 31 families ask about CBSE, ICSE/ISC, IB and IGCSE tutors. If your child is in a Haryana Board school, tell us, as some tutors cover it. The school our approved Gurugram list names for this zone is Delhi Public School Gurgaon, Sector 45, a CBSE school; we mention it only as a reference point, and we match to your child's own board.
In a colony flat, a CBSE or ICSE lesson works well around a table with the textbook and notebook. If your child needs a separate maths and science home tutor, two shorter visits on different days often suit a compact home better than one long one. For how the boards compare, see CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE compared.
For young children, steady practice matters more than long sessions: reading, writing, tables, and a calm homework time. A tutor from Sector 30, 39 or 40 can keep a three- or four-day rhythm without a long journey. Fix the slot before the market gets busy in the evening.
Middle school is where science and maths gaps begin. A good first month is spent checking basics and finding the missing steps. For a child who reads slowly, ask the tutor to work on reading questions carefully, because many lost marks come from misreading.
Board preparation begins in Class 9. A combined maths and science tutor is common, or separate tutors for each. For CBSE, ask the tutor how they plan around the board's second Class 10 exam, which is for improvement.
Senior students usually need subject specialists. A physics home tutor in Gurgaon plus a chemistry or maths tutor on other days is a usual pattern. Commerce students often want accountancy and economics together. See Class 12 home tutors for the board-year approach.
Medical and engineering aspirants often join a coaching batch and add a home tutor for the subject that is falling behind, most often physics or organic chemistry. Share the coaching timetable with the tutor. Our NEET home tutors page explains how home lessons fit alongside coaching.
CBSE and CISCE board exams are held early in the year on dates the boards publish; IB Diploma exams are in May and November; Cambridge has March, June and November series; the NTA announces JEE Main and NEET dates. Tutors' evenings are in demand in the run-up to each, so book extra revision sessions a few weeks ahead.
Two local points: the streets around Huda Market can be busy in the evening, and heavy monsoon rain can slow travel. For revision that cannot slip, keep an online slot ready.
Home tuition suits younger children, children who are easily distracted in a group, and students who need help with a particular board. In Sector 31 it is practical because several neighbouring sectors are close.
Online tuition fits a specialist subject, a student who prefers screens to visitors, or a compact home where a daily visitor is hard to fit in. It also covers rainy evenings.
Coaching gives a fixed timetable, peers and test series, especially for entrance exams. It costs your child travel time and one-to-one attention.
Most families combine two of the three. Use the free demo to try the one you are least sure about.
Fees are set by each tutor and shown on your shortlist before any lesson. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
The factors that move a quote are the class and board, how specialised the subject is, how long and how often you want sessions, and the tutor's travel. A tutor who has to cross NH-48 in the evening may charge differently from one who lives in Sector 40. The first class is a free demo, and if you change tutor later, that is free too.
We could not confirm a public library in Sector 31, so we do not name one. LIG Park and the sector's other parks are close for a short break between study blocks. Raheja Atlantis residents can ask their clubhouse about a quiet room during exam weeks.
Each link opens the Gurugram page for that board, subject or class. Tell us you are in Sector 31 and we look for tutors who can reach you, or teach online.

At present Raheja Atlantis is the single housing project in Sector 31 with an NXTutors page, and families living there can open it directly. Everyone else in the sector, whichever society or street, belongs on this list. Central Gurugram runs from Sector 30 up to Sector 46, and Sector 31 sits near the bottom of that run.
Its postcode, 122022, also appears on Sector 30, Sector 41, Sector 52 and Sector 61. That means a teacher from those pages could feature among your earliest suggestions; one quick question about the journey tells you whether it suits. Apart from that, Sector 31 residents and regular visitors come first, then other Central Gurugram sectors, the remainder of Gurugram and, lastly, those teaching online. Greenwood City, Raheja UniWorld City Pockets and The World Spa (East/West), Sector 30 hold separate lists.
For a senior pupil heading into board papers, getting the board right matters more than the street name. DPS Sector 45, the single zone school we list, teaches CBSE; if your child studies ICSE, IB or IGCSE, say so at the outset. If no nearby teacher covers a specialist subject, combining home visits with online sessions keeps the week flexible.
