Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. A home tutor can come to your flat or plotted house in Sector 55, the sector where Golf Course Road hands over to Golf Course Extension Road. Tell NXTutors the class, board and subject, and the block or apartment society you live in. We send two or three matched tutors, each with the fee on view before anything is booked. You pay nothing for the opening lesson, and a change of tutor later is free if the match does not hold.
Sector 55 sits on the Rapid Metro, at the southern end of the line, so it is one of the easier sectors in this zone for a tutor to reach without a car.

Sector 55 is an older sector by the standards of this zone. It was laid out as a HUDA sector, and property portals still list it mainly through residential plots, many now built up as independent houses or builder floors of three or four levels. Alongside the plots stand group-housing apartment societies of a modest size, the kind run by a cooperative or a small developer rather than a large township team.
The names that appear on portals and on OpenStreetMap include Vaastu Apartments, Progressive Apartments (a cooperative society), Pragati Apartments, Dwarkapuri, Sagavi Apartments, Siddhi Vinayak Flats, Paarth Apartments and Ansal Royale Casa. Navkriti Arcade, a commercial building on the sector's edge, is listed by one portal under the wider Sushant Lok II area, which spills across this part of Gurugram.
For a tutor, that mix matters. A plotted house usually means a street door, a doorbell and a family member to let them in. An apartment society means a guard post, a visitor register and sometimes an intercom call. Neither is hard, but the arrangements differ, so tell us which one you are when you ask for a tutor.
Beyond the residential blocks, the sector holds an eye hospital, a church, a private university campus and a cluster of everyday shops, all mapped on OpenStreetMap. Ghata village lies just beyond the sector's edge, with its own mandi. NXTutors does not count homes or guess at who lives here; what we can say is that both plotted and apartment homes ask for home tutors, for every class from primary to Class 12.
Public sources on Sector 55 return to a few themes again and again. We share them because each one changes how a tuition plan should be set up, not as a verdict on the sector.
By Rapid Metro. Sector 55–56 station opened on 31 March 2017 and is the last stop of Rapid Metro Line 1. It is elevated, owned by HMRTC and run by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. From Sikanderpur, where the line meets the Delhi Metro Yellow Line, a tutor rides south along Golf Course Road through Sector 42-43, Sector 53-54 and Sector 54 Chowk to reach it. One portal puts the station about a kilometre from the middle of the sector, so the last stretch is a short walk or auto ride.
By road. Golf Course Road arrives from the north through AIT Chowk; Golf Course Extension Road leaves to the south-west towards Sectors 57 to 66. Local roads named on portals include Raghvendra Marg, Rajesh Pilot Road and the Sector 56 main road. Tutors coming from Sohna Road or the Extension Road side usually approach from the south and avoid the chowk altogether.
By bus. A Sector 55/56 bus stop is mapped on OpenStreetMap, and portals list further stops nearby, including one at Alaknanda in Sector 54.
In practice, the tutors most able to make a twice-weekly visit are those who live along the metro line or in nearby sectors such as Sector 54, Sector 56 and Sector 57. A tutor from further away may suit weekends.
Because Sector 55 mixes plotted streets with small apartment societies, the first visit goes smoothly when you plan for your kind of home.
Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check: they confirm their phone with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID that our team reviews (how the ID check works). It is not a police or background check, so meet the tutor at the demo and trust what you see. If you want a woman tutor, ask for one when you send the request; see women home tutors in Gurgaon.
No school on our approved Gurugram list sits inside Sector 55 itself, but several are a short drive away, which is why requests from here span almost every board. Named neutrally and in alphabetical order, with no tie-up implied: Heritage Xperiential Learning School in Sector 62 follows CBSE; Lancers International School in Sector 53, DLF Phase 5, runs IB PYP, MYP and DP and Cambridge IGCSE; Scottish High International School in Sector 57 offers IB PYP and DP, Cambridge IGCSE and ICSE/ISC; Suncity School in Sector 54 follows CBSE.
For a home tutor, the board decides the books, the order of topics and how answers are marked, so name it on day one. If your child is moving from one board to another, say so; the first month then becomes a bridging month. Our board-by-board comparison sets out how the four systems differ.
Early years go well with short, frequent sessions at home: reading aloud, number sense, handwriting and the homework diary. A tutor who lives along the metro line can manage three short visits a week more easily than one long drive. Keep each session under an hour for the youngest children.
These years add separate science subjects and a heavier maths load. One tutor for maths and science together is common; ask the tutor at the demo how they will check written work, not only explain it.
Board years. Families here ask most for maths, science and English, with a weekly test and marked answer sheets in the pattern of their own board. A Class 10 home tutor should know how your board awards marks for steps, diagrams and working.
Subjects split by stream, and a single tutor rarely covers everything. Many students take one specialist for physics or maths and another for chemistry or accounts. Our maths tuition in Gurgaon and physics tutors in Gurgaon pages describe what each specialist brings. For IB DP or A-level work, check the tutor has taught that exact course.
For JEE or NEET, a home tutor often sits alongside a coaching programme, clearing doubts and setting timed practice. Say which mock series your child is following so the tutor can plan around it.
Requests from a mixed-board sector come in waves. CBSE students prepare for board papers early in the year; CBSE has also introduced a second Class 10 board examination from 2026, meant for improvement, so some families now plan revision in two rounds. CISCE publishes the ICSE and ISC timetables on its own site. IB Diploma students sit papers in May or November, and Cambridge runs March, June and November series. Start a tutor at least a term ahead of the paper; in the last few weeks, good tutors have the fewest free slots.
Sector 55 has an unusual choice: the metro makes a coaching centre on Golf Course Road reachable for a teenager, and the same metro makes home visits easy for tutors. So the question is less about distance and more about the child.
A hybrid plan suits many Sector 55 families: one home class a week, the rest online.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Tutors price their own time, and the figure is on your shortlist before any class happens. In Sector 55 the main levers are these:
We could not find a public library inside Sector 55 in any source we trust, so we do not list one. Property portals mention Smriti Vatika and a walking trail among nearby green spaces, useful for a break between study blocks rather than for study itself. At home, a corner away from the street side of the house is quieter, especially on lanes near Golf Course Road.
