Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. A home tutor can come to your house in Sector 14, or teach your child online. Send NXTutors the class, board and subjects, plus the sub-area you live in: Old DLF Colony, Anamika Enclave, Patel Nagar or the HUDA plots around the market. We send two or three matched tutors who travel to Sector 14 or teach online, and you see each tutor's fee before anything is booked. Your opening class in Sector 14 is a free demo, and moving to a different tutor later carries no charge.
Sector 14 is a plotted HUDA sector in the middle of Old Gurugram, so most tutors arrive by road and walk the last stretch from a lane near the market. The rest of this guide is about making that trip, and the lessons that follow, work for your family.

Sector 14 is an older planned HUDA sector of the city. Property portals describe it as a settled residential area of independent houses and builder floors, with some office space and a handful of small apartment buildings; NoBroker's society list for the sector includes Vasant Apartments next to the general HUDA plots. Square Yards notes that large gated communities are rare here, which is the single most useful fact for planning a tutor's visit: in most homes there is no security desk, no visitor app and no intercom, just a door on a lane.
The Sector 14 HUDA market is the sector's main shopping area and the landmark most tutors will recognise. OpenStreetMap marks a parking area at the market, and the lanes behind it carry the bank branches, clinics and eateries that make the evening busy. If your house is a few lanes from the market, that is the reference point to give.
OpenStreetMap maps Old DLF Colony as its own neighbourhood inside the sector and shows a separate DLF Colony Block C. Families in these pockets should write the colony and block name in the request, not just "Sector 14", because the house numbers follow the colony's own scheme.
NoBroker lists both as sub-localities. Listings for Anamika Enclave place it on the Delhi Road side, near the BSNL offices, so a tutor coming up the Old Delhi–Gurgaon Road will reach it first.
Several HUDA offices sit inside the sector boundary on OpenStreetMap: an estate office, the administrator's office, a horticulture office and a HUDA nursery. The BSNL main exchange is here too. These are handy landmarks for a tutor who has never been to your lane.
Resident reviews on NoBroker and the summary on Square Yards come back to the same few points. We turn them into planning advice rather than verdicts.
Most tutors who travel to Sector 14 come by two-wheeler, car or auto, because the nearest metro is a couple of kilometres away. The sector sits between two main roads, which gives tutors more than one way in.
Tutors coming from the Golf Course Road and MG Road belts usually pass IFFCO Chowk, where the Yellow Line station is. A tutor who uses the metro can take an auto from IFFCO Chowk; NoBroker lists the station at roughly 2.3 to 2.9 km from the sector. The Mehrauli–Gurgaon Road flyover, mapped along the sector's edge, is the road most of them will use.
Tutors from older neighbouring sectors such as 12 and 15 can usually come on city roads and the Old Delhi–Gurgaon Road rather than the highway. Property listings place Anamika Enclave on the Delhi Road side, so for families there this approach is worth suggesting.
NoBroker names the Sanjay Gram and IFFCO Chowk bus stops as the nearest bus points, and Gurgaon railway station is listed at about 4 to 5.5 km. Few tutors rely on these alone, but they help a student tutor without a vehicle.
Send a location pin, the house number with the colony or block, and one landmark: the HUDA market, the HUDA offices, the BSNL exchange or the nearest bank on the market road. Then the demo starts on time.
Because most homes in Sector 14 open straight onto a lane, the family does the job a society gate would do elsewhere.
Tutors who join go through an ID check, in which they confirm their phone or email with a code and upload a government photo ID for our team to review. Read how we check tutors. It is not a police or background check, so keep an adult at home, use a room with the door open and meet the tutor yourself at the demo.
If you would like a woman tutor, ask for one in the request and we shortlist only women who travel to Sector 14 or teach online. Our female home tutors in Gurgaon page explains how that works.
Families in Sector 14 can ask for tutors for CBSE, CISCE (ICSE and ISC), the Haryana board, IB or Cambridge. The school on our approved list closest to this part of the city is Blue Bells Model School in Sector 4, Urban Estate, which is listed with CBSE. NXTutors has no link with any school; the tutor teaches from the child's own books and school calendar.
In a plotted sector, two children in one house often go to different schools. If siblings follow different boards, mention both in the request: one tutor may cover both in the junior classes, but by Class 9 you may need two. For a side-by-side look at the four main boards, read how CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE differ.
Young learners do well with short, frequent visits: three times a week for about an hour is a common pattern. Because the tutor comes to the door, a ground-floor room or a quiet corner away from the street side of the house helps a small child focus. Our primary home tutors cover reading, writing and number work.
Maths and science grow heavier and a single tutor for both is usual. Ask the tutor to keep a notebook of the week's school work so you can see what was covered, and keep the same weekday slot so that market-hour traffic is a known quantity.
This is where some families switch to subject tutors. A maths home tutor in Gurgaon for Class 9 and 10 should map the syllabus to the school's unit tests and pre-boards, and keep one session in every few weeks for past papers. See Class 10 tuition at home for a fuller plan.
Specialists in physics, chemistry, maths, accountancy or economics may live further away. A mix works well from Sector 14: one home session a week from a nearby tutor and one online session with a specialist. Students preparing for JEE or NEET alongside school usually need a separate plan for each.
Senior students in builder floors often study in the evening when the market is busiest. A later slot, or a weekend morning session, avoids the street noise and the parking hunt.
Board dates come only from the boards themselves: CBSE, CISCE, the Haryana board, IB and Cambridge each publish their own calendar, and JEE Main and NEET (UG) dates come from the National Testing Agency. We do not guess dates here.
Locally, plan for two things. Tutors from the older sectors get booked up in the weeks before school pre-boards, so ask for extra revision slots early. And winter evenings bring slower traffic on the main roads, so move a long revision session to a weekend morning.
Home tuition suits Sector 14 because most homes have their own entrance and several neighbouring sectors are close by road. It is the easier choice for younger children and for students who need someone beside them while they work.
Online tuition fills two gaps: specialists who live far from Old Gurugram, and days when rain or traffic would cut a home session short. Some families keep both, with one home and one online class a week.
A coaching centre suits a student who wants a fixed group pace and regular tests. Before signing up, count the travel time from Sector 14 at the class hour, and use a home tutor for school subjects if the centre covers only entrance exams.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Inside that range, the fee for a Sector 14 family moves with a few things: the class and board, the number of subjects, how many sessions a week, how far the tutor travels, and whether the tutor is a specialist for senior classes or entrance exams. A tutor from a neighbouring sector may charge less travel time into the fee than one crossing the city.
Every tutor we match shows the fee before the demo, the demo itself is free, and switching tutor later is free too. You agree the fee with the tutor directly.
OpenStreetMap marks a HUDA Garden park inside the sector, and a HUDA nursery near the offices. NoBroker also points families to Leisure Valley Park, a short drive away. We could not source a public library inside Sector 14, so for focused study the home remains the main place; the parks are better for a walk between sessions.

Sector 14 is a planned HUDA sector near the centre of Old Gurugram, and its sub-areas include Old DLF Colony, Anamika Enclave and Patel Nagar. Its HUDA market is one of the older HUDA markets in Gurgaon. Homes are largely independent houses and builder floors on plots, with some apartments. Several major roads meet around it: the Old Delhi–Gurgaon Road, MG Road, NH-48 and Jharsa Road. Sector 15, Sector 13 and Civil Lines are next door.
For home tuition, Sector 14 is one of the easier Old Gurugram sectors to reach. IFFCO Chowk metro on the Yellow Line is close by, and tutors from the older sectors on either side of the Old Delhi–Gurgaon Road can arrive by road without a long trip. The market area gets crowded in the evening, so tell the tutor which gate or lane is quickest. Home tutors from nearby sectors and online tutors are available on NXTutors, with a free demo class.
